In most photos, the Combat 6 looks like it has a domed dial, curving downward at the edges. Is this true, or just a trick of the crystal distortion?

Certainly, mine does, and a very pronounced dome with a very much “old school” or “plexi-glass” look to it. I reviewed my watch a few years back on this forum. I’ll put the link below but not sure if it’ll work as I’m typing this on my phone. Mine has (domed) sapphire and it still looks like new. I wear it in rotation with my Hamilton Viewmatic, which tbh sees much more wrist time as it’s the dressier option for my work. By contrast, the Viewmatic (also pictured in my review) also has a domed sapphire glass, but the dome on that is very subtle, near flat. Hope that helps.
