At long last right? Sorry for taking so long, this month has been an insanely busy month for me and my family. Below are some pictures I have just taken of my two sample Ocean Divers, a Prometheus CR1, Doxa 1000T, and Bathys 100 Fathoms (Quartz). I'm not a great photographer so excuse the overall quality of the images. Also, I tried to take shots that would allow you to see the dial and case size differences between all the watches.

Johnny, yeah I was chatting with your wife the other day and she mentioned your watch <cough> habit, if I recall correctly she was the one who kickstarted the whole thing? I can relate to being a total watch junkie and now even more involved than ever. We're not that far apart, would be cool to meet up some time and compare watches - obviously without the ladies :p

Just stumbled on this sub forum and all I can say is wow! The OD looks fantastic and I can't wait to get my hands on one. The website says it will be €200 and in this forum you mention a 20% discount for WUS members so does this mean the WUS price will be €160? Or is the €200 price already including the discount?

Normal price is of 200 EUR but for all WUS members a 20% discount will exist which will make if of 160 EUR. As I see you are from the UK do not forget VAT needs to be added to price. If you are keen feel free to reserve a number.

Just to clarify, I assume you mean that when the package hits the shores of the UK, Customs will add charges? I ask this because:

If you buy goods online from within the European Union (EU)

You will not be charged Customs duty or import VAT.

Great pictures, thanks for posting!!

I know you posted to show relative size, but I hope you don't mind a couple of questions.

So... any reason why the time doesn't match on any of the watches?

I hear the next set of OD's will have a different movement then the prototypes you have pictured. Will there be any time keeping mechanical pieces shared between the two?

What is going on with the day/date on picture two with the prototype on the right in picture 4? Is it in-between days?

How is the watch handling life? Are they still keeping good time? Are all the mechanisms working fine? Are they comfortable to wear?
How are the crowns? Are they tight? Do they dig into the hand when worn out on the wrist or loosely?
I see it's on NATO straps now. Did the strap that it comes with get softer with wear? Are you just trying out different straps for comfort and look?

I'd love to hear an update of living with the watch.

This has been explaned before but here goes again.
Watches are shipped from Portugal. Prices advertised are always without any VAT so that all fellow WUS members outside EU are able to have an idea of price they are liable to pay. Therefore all EU customers need to add up 20% to advertised price. This can also be easily checked at webstore during checkout.

thanks a million-every manufacturer should do comparison shots. It makes the buying decision so much easier in that there is always hesitation on a new brand because you cannot try it on before buying. Your pics give me a very clear image of the size of your watch and I can make my decision accordingly............great looking product too:-!

I figured someone would ask about those things, so here goes:

  • The reason the times do not match on the watches is because I dug them all out of my watch case in order to take the pictures. I was just too lazy to set the times is all, oh and by the way the battery in my 2005 Bathys finally died
  • Yes final ODs will have much improved movement to ones shown
  • Dates - yes this has been a constant issue. The two samples show do not have the date wheels properly aligned horizontally. Carlos and I noticed this right away and pointed it out. rest assured the date wheel will be perfect - Carlos and I are too detailed oriented to let that go
  • The ODs are great to wear, keep very good time even for samples and are HUGE eyecatchers and conversation starters. "That's a nice watch?", "Oh yes, it's my own design..." you can image how much I love saying that!
  • The crowns are good and tight, and do not dig into my hand at all - it's a very comfortable watch
  • The NATO straps are just because I'm personally not much of a two piece strap kinda guy - I also love to tinker and wanted to see what they looked like on NATO straps - they look good right? Also the screwed lugs on the OD make it very easy and highly secure to change straps!
There has been a lot going on behind the scenes with the manufacturer of the OD. I'm sure you'll all be hearing from Carlos very soon about the status. I'm more eager than anyone to see this baby into full production :)

It is a great strap, and unbelievably comfortable/soft. Unfortunately it was a manufacturer product sample from China and I do not know whether they are commercially available. The manufacturer was able to source them so they must be out there somewhere. This one had 24mm lugs so I had to shave them down to 22mm to fit my Bathys. If I find out where they are from I will post an update here for everyone to see.
Hey bfgreen, who makes that rubber strap on the Bathys 100F and where can I get one?
