I've started the talk about what I was planning to do in this thread:
https://www.watchuseek.com/f72/starking-automatic-4573285-5.html#post46432169

So, I know it makes little economical sense, but the advantages are:

1. I can practise a little with the (to me) fresh watchmaking hobby
2. It's a nice watch with snowflake hands and a high beat movement
3. It's something a little bit different from all the other homages out there
4. It hacks
5. It winds smoothly
6. It flicks the date wheel real fast
7. It is at least 24 jewels
8. The Corgeut case allows tweaking of the bezel really easy, so I made it nicely heavy and free of play
9. This case has a pretty decent movement fixation, unlike the Starking donor
10. The date wheel lines up without any modifications (I've corrected it a little after having made the pictures)
11. The dial is fixed with four screws on all four pins (so the ETA and DG compatible pins) The Starking movement had all four screws in place, even though only two were in use with the stock dial.

So I started with a Starking AM0184 watch, a Corgeut case, a Parnis strap, some ETA2824/2836 matching snowflake hands, and a lot of tools and time.

Oh yes, prices, from the top of my head:
€34,20 for the Starking watches (on sale, and bought four)
€54,50 for the case with the dial
€7,20 for the hands set
€26 for the strap with clasp
Totals it at €121,90

The work was about an hour and a half (yes, really I'm getting the hang of it!)

I will add some more info later on...

I'm not gonna waste the Starking by the way, but will use it for some $12 Shanghai ETA 2824 low beat clones I still have four of. Maybe I'm gonna put different hands on it though, and perhaps a different crown that winds easier.

Isn't it getting too boring with all that Hommage Tudors?
Yes, a little, but I do really love the way these look, and how they wear on my wrist, how the crown feels in my big fingers, how the bezel turns is really amazing. In terms of ergonomy they are really nice.
