Hey WUS users, I was thinking about dying my G5600A-7 as it will get dirty eventually. First of all, should I use liquid RIT dye, or poweder RIT dye? Secondly, is it hard to dye a G-Shock? Also, how much dye should I use? Thanks guys :) Also, what color do you guys think i should dye it?

I personally used the powder dye for dying my Baby-G, I heard the powder dye works better but I couldn't tell you by personal experience. NO it is definitely not hard at all to dye the G-Shock. Depending on how deep/dark you want to dye the watch, darker/deeper = more dye. Just dye it whatever color suits you, person preference :)

It seems Rit doesn't sell Yellow #1 any longer. I've seen a couple nice dye jobs using this color. Rit now has either Lemon Yellow or Golden Yellow. Any advice on which is closest to Yellow #1?

I've read most of the dye threads that I could find on this forum and have never seen "Tulip" brand dye mentioned until now.

From what I've read here plus personal experimentation, I know that Dylon and other acid dyes can be very hit-and-miss depending on the color. Dylon Bahama Blue and Dharma Trading Company Fluorescent Orange barely tinted the white bezels I was trying to dye, while I've been relatively successful with Rit dyes: https://www.watchuseek.com/f17/results-dying-6900-i-just-got-872979.html#post6412159

I've also never heard of Rit dyes being referred to by numbers, only by names like "Golden Yellow" -- do you have a link to the source that was referring to "Yellow #1?"

I didn't find anything via Google either, UNTIL I glanced up at the "Google Shopping" window at the top of the screen:

Text Yellow Product Font Line

Rit's website doesn't even refer to their dyes by color number, either, so I'm really not sure where those numbers came from -- but from that picture, it looks like "Lemon Yellow" is the #1 you're looking for.

I've had good luck with 1/2 pack of dry (I have used liquid Rit with the same results) Rit dye and 4-6 cups of near boiling water and 15-30min. for a band and bezel. I also added 1/2 cup of salt to help the dye penetrate, and afterwards let it sit in a cool down in a bowl of white vinegar to help the color stick. Results for this have been very good - although some of the newer bands and bezels have a coating that is hard to see, but makes them very difficult to dye.

I think you should try dying it orange or yellow!
