For its latest inspiration, the Cuervo y Sobrinos brand draws a parallel with the historical past of its place of origin. Secret beaches, buried treasures: Caribbean islands such as Cuba, Tortuga and Santo Domingo. Once the favorite hunting grounds for famous pirates. Cuervo y Sobrinos pays a tribute to its origins by creating watches inspired by the adventurous and romantic spirit of the buccaneers, and within the bezel the is engraved the words "Pirata de el Tiempo de la vida"

The Torpedo Pirata watch has a wealth of details.  All the parts are reminiscent of the brazenness of the great pirates: the case is in the shape of a cannon mouth while the lugs represent the bow of a ship plundering on the Caribbean Sea. The crown subtle design in the shape of the globe and the buckle recaptures the design of the lugs.

The modular case comprises rings allowing the various metals which create a watch to combine. The stainless-steel material used in the current model is the innovation compared to its predecessors made in bronze, the material preferred at the time of the buccaneers in the 17th century.

The Torpedo Pirata Chrono Day Date houses an automatic movement, the black velvet effect of the chronograph’s dial combines a perfect balance of two counters: 12-hour scale and 30-minute counter. In addition there’s a central seconds’ counter, hours and minutes and also an independent second’s counter at 9 o’clock emblazoned with Cuervo y Sobrinos and a day date window at 3 o'clock.

The sapphire crystal case-back on each model reveals the details of the automatic movement. Engraved on the crystal case-back is the unique logo for this model, two “swords” surround the classic CyS logo, paying a tribute to the pirate world from which the watch was inspired. Price TBC.
