First time posting here and hoping to get some thoughts on a Doxa 1000T Professional. Local seller has one with the original packaging, but missing the rubber strap. BOR bracelet has all the links and the watch is in pretty nice condition. Seller wants $1460 USD, or about $2000 CAD.

What can we tell you, the law of supply and demand.
Do you think you will feel ok paying that price? Do it.

But do not forget that it is out of production any more, so you will not find a new one. (the closer to it would be the 1200T 1890$ at the official online store)

But in my opinion it is a fare price for a good condition second hand one, and do not mind about the rubber strap, once you use the BOR you do not want any other thing on your Doxa

Also, factor in that it may need service if it has not had it. Probably over 10 years old. Now approaching new prices.

That's a fair price, imo, based on what I've bought and sold for over the past few years. Condition is important, verified by quality photos. A 10 year old watch is most likely going to have some blemishes on the bezel or missing paint on the numbers, but that's not difficult to fix if you want. The TimeZone forum has a gradings guideline that is helpful for two parties to define the condition of a pre-owned watch with consistent criteria. As has been said, supply and demand also comes into play, as well as your level of need/want.

The Sub 1000T is a nice piece! (Photo of mine attached.) Be sure to post photos if you decide to add it to your collection.

Thank you Monet_Briard, William, and orangeface for your advice and help with this. I went to see the watch this morning and it was a mess. Looked like the seller was using it to hammer nails. The bracelet was short and did not have extra links as the seller stated. I offered $1400 CAD he said no and I left. The 1000T was one of two Doxa watches that I fell for when they were released but I think I can do much better than what this seller was offering, especially at that price.

Well done!!!
Tell you the truth Monet_Briard, the pics he sent me were either old or someone else's watch because they did not match the watch he showed me. That sort of thing really annoys me.

Who wouldn't be annoyed? That's plain old fraudulent. I've had a similar experience with a new piece, several years ago. PayPal's buyer protection program worked for me, yet I still lost ca. $80 (cost for insured shipping).
Are you dead set on the 1000T? At those prices, I'd consider the 1200T, brand new. Will come with 2 years of warranty plus now on a true BOR bracelet. Just a thought. Good luck hunting.

First time this has happened and looks like I was luckier than you in this situation MHe225. What I like about the 1000T is the 42mm case and the lack of HEV. I'll look into the 1200T, thanks much for the tip.

Quick question.

Is the 1000T movement a COSC certifed movement ?

Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
Only if it has a Seahunter diving helmet logo on the dial. Those were the COSC models. The plain dials used standard movements.
