I have long wondered why Damasko chose various letter combinations to describe its watches. Professor Google did not help me.

I expect that D stands for Damasko. I'm thinking C stands for chronograph (in both DE and EN), H for hunter (but Jäger in DE), S and DSub for submarine (Unterseeboot in DE). But it would be surprise me if such a German company based its watch designations on English words.

Anyway, we have this:

  • DA
  • DB
  • DC (chronograph?)
  • DH (hunter?)
  • DK
  • DS (submarine?) / DSub2
I'm at a loss to explain A, B and K. Was "A" just used for their original line and B for special runs? And K - I have no idea. Perhaps K has something to do with those watches having only in-house movements.

Please speculate away!

My guess

DA Damasko Automatic
DB Damasko Blue (all Timeless LE had blue second hands)
DC Damasko Chronograph
DH Damasko Hunter
DK Damasko Kaliber (reflecting the in-house movements)
DS Damasko Sport
DSub Damasko Submarine

Makes good sense to me. Thanks, Mike!

... that was quick and easy! I guess numbers means nothing more than iteration or arbitrary numbers?

They need a DN

Damasko No-Date
I know it's a year and a half later... but the DK30 is no-date. Announced (and sold on the Damasko site) but not yet in stock at US retailers.
