Is it worth looking at the Datejust 2 or just go with the Datejust 41mm? Is there any savings in the current market?

You used the words “worth” and “savings” in a short post.....
The DJ-II is a nice watch and will be found for less money than comparable DJ-41.
That said, I personally would pay more to get the DJ-41....

This isn't something where saving pennies (or dollars) will help.

Buy which one you like better. Don't worry about price.

If you buy what you like less only because you can save money, in a year you'll have forgotten how you spent the saved cash, but you'll still be looking at the object you didn't like, and you'll wish that you had bought the other one in the first place.

Well said.

The reason to buy the DJII is because you like the chunkier look of it! It's actually pretty cool.

If you prefer the more traditional proportions or the newer movement of the DJ41, then that's the one to get.

Compromise always seems to end up more expensive in the long run.
