I love the bezel on mine but the current fluting seems plain in comparison, so I might go plain and oyster bracelet.

That's because yours is not a fluted bezel but an engine turned bezel... shame they don't make those anymore.

Fluted bezels are always gold (white gold on the steel cases). Engine turned bezels were steel,

I originally was attracted to the fluted bezel with blue dial and jubilee in ss. But, i am now liking the smooth bezel. A white dial, smooth bezel and jubilee looks understated classy to me. Likely to not attract undue attention as well. Thoughts?
Heh, smooth unless your 70 years old.

100% for the fluted bezel, it is so distinctive and looks good with the jubilee IMHO.

The only reason to go for the smooth bezel is if you are wearing the watch in a dangerous area (town/city), so a smooth bezel would not be too obvious. But then again, if you pair a smooth bezel DJ with a jubilee bezel, that is pretty distinctive too.

I don't think understated and jubilee go together in the same sentence :)

no disrespect to anyone... IMHO

smooth looks like you broke your real bezel off and you never bothered putting it back on... i prefer Fluted with Jubilee.

A Datejust just isn't a Datejust without that fluted bezel. It makes the watch. I went through the same dilemma when I bought my first DJII. I thought the fluted was too blingy, wanted to be under the radar, less flashy, blah blah blah. Bought the smooth and like so many others regretted it down the road and traded up to the fluted.

Once you get comfortable wearing it you are going to miss that fluted bezel. It is gorgeous, and you're gonna wind up wanting it down the road.

Avoid that unnecessary step and get the fluted bezel (and jubilee bracelet) now and get it right the first time.

I mean come on, how can you say no to this....

I have had had smooth and fluted, both on jubilee. Liked them both! Imho more than the bezel, the jubilee is what distinguishes a DJ, oyster looks similar to OP
