Thinking about taking my datejust on my next trip which will include swimming in a pool. Any concerns with the datejust or do I take a beater just to play it safe?

If the watch is older than 5 years, I'd have the seals checked before I swam.

Other than that, its 100m water resistant so normally ok for swimming, not going down 100 meters for any newbies out there

Great watch! And YES you can swim, shower, hot-tub, sleep, work, play, etc, etc.....
It's the number one reason I've worn this brand for more than 40 years with ZERO issues.....
I used to scuba dive with a Submariner, but swimming with a DJ is no problem.

Any given summer evening here I'll fool around in the salt water fishing, etc.....been wearing a DJ the past few years and would NEVER think to change it before any activity.....except for maybe stone mason work (which I don't do)

PS: Just an opinion - but I've also never traveled with multiple watches, fiddling about, on-off, off-on, hotel room safes, etc......Eff that....

Just asking for opinions dude. I normally swim with beaters or full dive watches.

Pretty sure the limit for recreational (non-technical) scuba is 40m; I'd think you'd be fine even on an unplanned holiday excursion. If you're going deeper than 40m, you'll have acquired a certification, and will be wearing a dive computer. A swimming pool? Water pressure definitely won't be an issue.

The above advice re: "check your seals if it's more than 5 years old" is good.

Link just for a point of reference. Though this guy seems to be a bit more conservative with his thoughts on water resistance ratings, but it isn't far off from what I've read on other sites.

If it were me? I'd take it out swimming and just enjoy. I like a watch that gets to "live". Worst case it might end up needing a service? But most likely it'll be fine.

That is a big plus in my opinion about about most of the models of Rolex, as you can go swimming with you watch! Vance.

I wouldn’t, not because it’s not a very waterproof watch, it’s just it’s a very expensive waterproof watch.

Break out the cheap diver for the pool and beach, and then wear it in the evening.

Well that’s what I would do.

Cause you can use it to shuck oysters?
