My vote would be for one tone version, unless you dress with custom golden buttons, heavy golden chain etc. The less is more in my opinion.
I am totally fine it it was fully golden, or fully silver, but don't like combination of two.
What's the diameter?
36mm
The two tone looks great imo. Do update with your decision please.
Well you probably have made your choice by now.

But I would choose the OP. Explorer 1 in steel just looks right too me. Where, the TT Exp.1 looks out of form.

What did you choose?

Went for the conversation piece.

Thanks for feedback! Bought from an AD was treated very nicely. Sales lady was very helpful. Got a free Rolex book but no hat!

Congratulations! It looks perfect on you. Wear it in good health.

You can see from another thread that I started off preferring the OP 36 (also with silver dial - very sharp with the gold accents, in my opinion), but then changed my mind to the Explorer (albeit all steel). I found it more versatile and more interesting.

In my case, it’s all theoretical until I get the call! Amazing that you had the option of parting with your own hard earned money in two different ways at the same point in time…

That would have been my choice! Love the 3-6-9 dial!
I may be in the minority, but all things equal, I lean towards the two tone.

I don't know why the two tone Explorer is getting so many thumbs down. I like it.
I'd go for the explorer. I personally own it.

Congrats, some people may not like it but I dig how the gold contrasts with the explorer dial.
2-tone would have been my choice as well. Weird piece in the best way, while remaining understated. I’d be eyeing one myself if I didn’t already have the standard explorer in my stable.
