Hello fellow WUS I am looking for a little help. I am visiting my parents in Florida and remembered that my father had a few vintage pocket watches, not to familiar with pocket watches usually spend most of my time in the Affordables. I was looking through his collection, which he really does not have much history on so i decided to go on the web and show him some pics of the watches he had, they are Hamilton, Elgin Nat. Watch Co., Ingersoll Yankee, and a Delmar (movement says Delmar Tacy Watch Co.) the only thing is I am unable to find any info on the web about the Delmar. If anyone has any info on the history of Delmar watches your help would be much appreciated. I will post some pics as soon as I get back home.

Thanks
Rafael

I did some searching under Delmar the fact that there is an electroplating company and associated jewelry store in Ft Myers may or may not be related. The companies are closely related but only date back to the early 70's. I does hint at the families association to the trade and perhaps an earlier business.

Thanks, some similar characteristics, the serial number on the watch in the thread seems to be a much earlier model than the one my father has
If it is a private label brand as nsmike suggest (and I agree with) the movements could have come from different manufacturers and as such serial numbers are not directly comparable. Please post pictures of the watch, it is likely someone here will be able to identify the movement.

Hi Rafael,

Tacy was a brand of Tavannes-Cyma, mainly found on movements, and
Delmar a brand of the US importer Ollendorff watch Co. Apparently they
importetd Camy watches among many others.

Regards, Roland Ranfft
