Hi everyone... new poster here (although I've been lurking for some time). I'd like to do a very minor stealth job by removing the red and white letters from the bezel of my new DW-6900. I haven't been able to find Goof Off, but I did buy some extra strength Goo Gone at Wal-Mart. It's in a metal can rather than the normal soft plastic bottle. Does anyone know if this will work? I'd rather not remove the bezel, so I'm hoping to use the q-tip and toothbrush routine. Before I try it and mess up a good watch I thought I'd seek your advice. Any tips or tricks would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Jim, and welcome to the forum. :)

A quick search of the forum suggests that Goo Gone doesn't work.

i have used nail polish remover successfully on a few occasions.

soak the bezel in the stuff for a while, then scrub with an old toothbrush.

if the colour stays stubborn, further soaking may be required. a sharp pointed object such as a needle will help remove any tiny specks that may remain thereafter.
