Guys,

I got a few pics in of the Doxa stand at Basel. Apologies for the poor quality. The watches show that the 1000Ts on display are COSC Pro and Sharky and that there is indeed a pink Coralline with an ordinary bezel. I just noticed that the Coralline is a 1000T case. Surely it's not just a 1000T with a pink dial......... That's not a ladies watch but a ladyboy's watch... sorry couldn't resist that;-) I thought the ladies was supposed to be smaller than the 1000T maybe utilizing the 600T case.....I'm confused now.

I'll try to get some more shots.

Orange hand white hand, orange hand, white hand.......

Glad to see the design consistency is still as thorough as ever.
Hey Colinmet, what you see in the Basel display are prototypes only, they show all the possible variations of the current line. The final product fine tunings are yet be defined. I will start a poll and will invite you all, to choose the final design bits. It is obvious though that the case and bracelet have been manufactured but the diala and hands are yet to be defined.

Thank you
Rick

Hi Rick,

I think that letting us give some idea's would be great.
NOW This is why I love the brand so much:) .

Also please let there be an option for the metric bezel for the 1000T.
Give the guys in the US their prefered measuring system, imperial.
Give the rest of Europe, UK, Asia and the Pacific, metric...Yeah|>

Never know,, though I am hoping so.

Cheers

Rick,

now I am totally confused!

The pics on the website show the sharkhunter with the original style all white hands. To be honest that is what attracts me to this one, as it reminds me of the whiteshark I was forced to sell earlier in the year. However, are you saying if I bought one today from the website based on the pics, that I might receive one with a orange minute hand as the design is not final and is open for discussion by forum members?

I totally agree with the design being open to discussion. My fondness for the Bathys range and the Ocean 7 styles prooves that. However, I think that needs to be completed first before you start offering the watches for sale. Its just not good practice. people need to know what they are buying.

I'm with Peter D on the metric thing
I've dived a few times in places like the Far East, Australasia & the South Pacific, and the kit I've used has always been metric. Now, if the 1000T came with the option of a metric bezel I can imagine a lot of folk happily springing for one...
Main thing is, it's a fine thing to ask customers what they want. Means there's a chance they'll get it. Looking forward to seeing what else might pop up in Basel (unless it involves diamonds).

It would be kinda cool to be able to pick what color hands your watch has when you order it. Like different options on a car when you order it from the factory. Just an idea.........Rick?

Are the case sides thicker on the new 1000T than the 600T??:-s I thought the case was like those chunky cases used back in the 60's/70's. The case itself looks like the others (600T and 750T) with a relatively thinner design, barring the 300T reissue of course.

Why can't DOXA take a few photos of their stand at Besel? like some of the other watch manufactures on the forums? Sometimes I feel like I am a member of a secret orginasation where the orginasation is a secret to it's members.:-s

What you see is what you get on the Doxa web site. The Sharkhunter 1000 and the Pro 1000 designs are finalized, parts are sourced, and Swiss Elves are standing by to build yours today. The pics at Basel are prototype COSC dialed watches and obviously the final designs are not solidified. I would imagine our inputs in months to come will help Rick and company finalize the designs prior to release. It happened on the Sharky T-Graph, the Searambler, GMT's, the Caribbean 750....you get my point.

No 1/4 minute grades? Great!

I understand these are prototypes, but I noticed the COSC 1000 in the photos above do not have the 1/4 minute grades. My vote is to keep this cleaner design in the final watch. If it isn't a chronograph, sub-minute grades are 'useless clutter'.

Hi Kev,
Maybe I'm seeing things but I think they do have the 1/4 min grades.

I agree - keep it clean - no 1/4 minute marks.:-!

As it would appear from the poll just launched a while ago the design is NOT finalized. that was my original point this morning. I would buy the sharkhunter as it is on the website now, but that is MAYBE how it will end up. Not as described currently. The poll refers to the 1000t, not a COSC version.

Also my other point was simple. If you are going to do design by poll or concencus, then by all means I agree with that. But do not release the watches or advertise them, until the decisions have been made.

As the website stands this watch is available for purchase today shipping in may 2007. Will the website change when the minds have been made up?

As for us having the choice, Doxa have never allowed the owner choice of hands before, individual to each order, and if I remember from a previous post, have no plans to do so. They will choose one or other of the colours and then that will be it, otherwise we'll end up with another batch of whitesharks which were never meant to be.

About the 1/4 minute markers... I'd prefer that they weren't on the dial along with others here. Hopefully this is one thing that could be changed before release. I think it's enough to have the 1000T on the dial, that alone will be enough to differentiate it from the 600T.
