I have a vintage G-Shock which I purchased over 10 years ago from an eBay seller in Australia, who said he got it in Japan. It was sold to me as a DW-5600C-9V, however, after finding the article: "DW-5600 Model Versions - The First Nine - An Illustrated Guide", either posted by, and/or written by CasioPhile, I am not so sure, because the watch is showing characteristics of both the C-9V and the C-9CV, as follows:

1. The module is a 901, but it has a CR-2320 battery installed
2. The LCD Screen is gold
3. It has gold buttons, gold bezel screws, gold buckle, and gold accents on the dial
4. The black bezel has gold colored lettering
5. The gold border on the dial is thick, and is an unbroken line
6. The dial states "Water 200M Resist"
7. The case back style is: Japan H Circleback Type 1
8. The light is a dim whitish color

Notes:

1. In #1, above, the module is characteristic of the C-9CV, but the battery is characteristic of the C-9V
2. In #2, above, the LCD screen is characteristic of the C-9CV
3. In #3, above, the buttons, bezel screws, buckle, and accents on the dial are characteristic of the C-9V
4. In #4, above, the black bezel is characteristic of both the C-9V and the C-9CV
5. In #5, above, the thick, gold, unbroken, border on the dial is characteristic of the C-9V
6. In #6, above, the "Water 200M Resist" is characteristic of both the C-9V and the C-9CV

With this information, could anyone help me to confirm just what Model Version I have?
Is it the DW-5600C-9V or the DW-5600C-9CV?

You have a picture? As I have many DW5600C I am aware that the DW5600CV is supposed to be part if the speed models .. like this... https://global.rakuten.com/en/store/procontact/item/11117146/

If yours is a solid gold border with a gold LCD the only explanation I can have is that it is a DW-5600D-1 (if the glass on yours says 20BAR instead of 200M) from the winter collection (marble design) basically the last production models Casio released around '91...but it was probably replaced by a regular black bezel? https://www.ebay.com/itm/GSHOCK-CASIO-DW5600D1-901-speed-model-Marble-WINTER-PREMIUM-only-digital-sc-K30-/113514316083

As far as your battery is concerned it is my understanding that with the removal of a spacer one can fit a CR2320 but the 901 module used the CR2016 which is thinner.

I posted 3 photos about 5 hours ago. I do not know what happened to them, but the post is not here.

I have attempted to contact someone about it, but I am new to this forum and do not fully understand photo posting, private messages, contacting forum administration, etc etc.

Until I can get my photos to appear, please bear with me.

Note that what I wrote in the original post tells everything that a photo will.

These are mine.

The only difference is that my 9V doesn't have the screen so gold toned, as far as I remember it was a transitional model produced for one year or so, therefore yours might have received the gold screen. Mine has a green bulb which is also unusual.

Thanks to everyone who replied.

Cuthbert: I take it from your reply that I do indeed have the DW-5600C-9V, as the seller claimed, but that mine received a gold, or very gold, LCD screen, due to it being near to the transition from one model version to the next.

Cowboy Bebop: I guess then that I have a part missing; the battery spacer. Though I like the idea of the CR-2320, rather than the CR-2016, the missing part may
subtract from the value of my watch. I will say that I have had the watch for over 10 years and it is still running on the original battery as when I received it.
