Those are definite copies i.e. Not Casio. There's a serious cottage industry in Brazil making these. Good or bad you be the judge. I see nothing wrong with it if Casio refuses to keep the supply alive. Now I am trying to get someone in Brazil (or Anywhere else for that matter :) to make some new "clothes" for my DW-5500C's :D . I have to agree with Ronbo. If Casio is not going to make parts, what other choice is there if we still want to wear our vintage pieces?

Indeed, absolutely right. I've had a set of these parts (they came on a watch I purchased from Brazil) and they are not bad at all. Slightly different finish, not as shiny as Casio parts, and the bezel lettering is subtly different too but overall pretty good and in the absence of anything else we should be glad there is an option to keep old classics alive.

This isn't the first time a retired product was picked up in South America for continued production. It happened with the VW Beetle. Also, when Parker pen company retired the 51, a plant in Argentina continued producing them for a few years. A molded piece of resin isn't that hard to make, so it's quite feasible for a Brazilian company to jump into this as a cottage industry and produce good quality replacement parts.

Thanks for the replies, I like that someone picked up the ball on the discontinued spares, I'd love a dw5600c and you can get them in various states on the big bay, what I can't stomach is being held to ransom on the original Casio parts, I saw someone had broken up a perfectly good watch and was selling it as various spares and the used bezel was up for auction, a starting price of £35! I'm all for resurrecting old classics but that's taking the *#@*! After being this set I might just be able to own one of my favourites.

Hey Guys I have just received my aftermarket "Brazil" bezel for my 5600c. I have asked the permission of the moderators if its permissible to post, and they said it was OK. I haven't compared them to my originals since they are fresh from the post office. Packaging is good. The bezel and and straps are not too soft and not that hard, just right in my opinion. Lettering is good - appears to be machine done as I can't see any paint outside the letter grooves. Overall I think its a very good alternative for my naked 5600. Its about $50 a pop delivered to the USA (takes almost forever) maybe a bit pricey, but I can't stand to see my 5600 with no bezel. Enough chitchat, here's some pictures.

Finally able to put the bezel in, and it fits like a glove. Here's some pictures:

And here it is with my other DW-5600C with a 9CV gold bezel.
