Dyeing a G8000-3V

I'm contemplating buying this watch, but the band and bezel are green. Does anyone know if the watch can be dyed like most G-Shock watches? I would like to dye the band and bezel black. It looks as though they are made of resin and I'm curious if the bezel can be removed.

I think you can dye it easily enough. Some of the G-8000s have a patent finish which wouldn't take the dye, but that one looks like plain matt resin. Black is the only colour you could dye it though.

The bezel is removeable.
Thanks Tribe. I think you are correct in that this model isn't the shiny version. I searched other threads in this forum and it sounds as though the module in this watch is very good.

One of the best modules ever. I had two, but found the bands too long.
Dyeable, no worries. It's the same dark green as the reverse LCD Mudman. I have one of those. :-!
The band will most likely be too long for me as well, but if I like the watch I'll trim the band. I was satisfied with the trim job I did on my Mudman so maybe I can get lucky a second time.

What's the advantage of this module? I like the style, this might be my next G.
Does this watch wear larger than the 5600 series? From the picture I cannot tell if this is a slim watch or if it is kind of chunky.

Let's see:
  • shows day and date
  • 24hr countdown timer
  • shows time in all modes
  • clarity of display
  • day in three letters
  • world time
  • year display
  • alarm set by date
  • more than one alarm
Lots of the things that Casio leaves out of modern modules, in other words.

And the styling has a pleasing modernity. I seem to think they were particularly well screwed-together too. The plain one was my favourite.

Significantly larger, but not bulky.
I'll post pics here in some minutes, Xfactor. :)
Hey thanks Vintage. No hurry though, my 12 month old son just fell asleep so I've got to squeeze in a workout while I can! Be back in a couple of hours.

Vintage - Those photos are great, thanks for posting them. I just bought one off ebay. So it looks as though I've got a dye job coming up along with a strap trimming.

Tribe - Thanks for your help in answering my questions about this watch.
Vintage - How do you like the light that comes with the stopwatch, alarm and countdown timer? Is it bright?
wat does the large button do? the light button is on the top right. so wat is it? or is it still a button?
14secs difference between 8000 and 5600. must sync... with atomic...

nice watches Vintage
I believe the large button on the face of the watch is the one that lights up.
