They are made by Fossil. Take that for what it's worth.
If you love the design and feel that the watch is worth the money, go for it. But if you ask me, I don't think it's worth the money. Most people on WUS dislike fashion watches...

Probably not worth the money...

For almost $200, you can get a Victorinox Swiss Army watch , a Seiko, or a nice Swatch as seen in this link:

Re: Probably not worth the money...

I've owned a number of them. Among the best chinese made watches I've found. I don't know much about the movements, but the case and bracelets are very nicely made. I've bought all of mine at Fossil Outlet stores at about 1/2 price ($100-$150), making them even better.

I have no doubt that a seiko, citizen, or victorianox in the same price range has a better movement, although there are only a handful of mechanical from those brands in this price range. Most models in those brands are boring to me.

The cases are nicely finished, with extra details, very solid. Exhibition backs and finished movements are normal on the mechanical models. Bracelets are very smooth, on par with all but the very best.

I've owned 4 mechanical ones on stainless steel and a quartz on leather. I sold a few but this one is a favorite:

^ Nice! I used to have one like that. Had it for a couple of years and had no problems with it at all. It's now in the hands of my ex-gf, I think.

All good points and i am over the Armani idea hehe...those Swatches look nice, i am also checking out the Citizen 2010 lineup...just walked over to a local shop and tried about 5-6 models....quite impressed actually.

Now just gotta find a good deal on a nice model ;)

I picked up a similar model to this on ebay for super cheap. But I got it in very beat up condition. I sent into Metro Service Center (Fossil's repair facility for all their brands), they replaced the damaged crown, crystal and put on the original band (and sent me back the other band that was on the watch) all for about $45. I can't attest to the quality of the movement, but I can attest to the quality of their service.

If you like the looks of a particular watch, then buy it. I know a lot of folks on this forum will probably dismiss it, but then again it's your wrist.
Re: Probably not worth the money...

My wife has 2 EA watches that are pretty decent. I don't remember exactly but when i swap the batt for 1 of them,i was impressed by its quartz movement..can't remember why i was impressed but i know it's not a cheapo quartz.

SynMike's EA is really neat! I'd want 1 if i see it.

i recall an article read recently stating that in the near future many posts on message boards would be written by corporate entities and not private citizens...this one was a little over the top to put it mildly

and this is coming from someone with a couple armanis
i would never purchase any armani watch again i bought the ar1426 ceramica watch for my wife in 2012 she wore it on holiday in 2013 she gently swam to the pool bar for a drink came back and it was full of water Although im clearly aware that it is not waterproof i would expect it to have performed better as its rated at 50 meters 5atm she wasnt in the water for more than 5 mins ..when taken for repair i was quoted £70 to have it serviced the service centre sent it back to armani After 2 months of waiting i received a call saying that it would cost £303 for the repair .Almost the the cost of the watch new ..STAY well clear of these overpriced cheaply made Armani fashion watches . you can get a lot better quality and performance at half the price and with the same Atm rating
Re: Probably not worth the money...

i can assure you that even though they look the part they r cheaply made rubbish and that statement i can assure you is not from any corporate entitie

Looks exactly like the movement from one of those Puritan watches from Walmart. Yes, I've taken one apart before. :)
