Has Rolex ever made an Explorer with a white dial? I'm not talking about the Explorer II- I know that comes in white and black.

I think this could be an interesting look for the original Explorer. I love the look of the white dial on other Rolex models.

Why not one for the ole Explorer? It's such a classic looking watch that doesn't seem to get as much love as other Rolex models. A white dial could really set it off.

Mercedes hands missing here.... That's the mark of a rolex sports model (except Daytona).

All of the Oyster case models are sports watches. They all have a minimum of 100m WR, and a minimum of a twin-locking crown

Different construction in the 36mm Oyster Perpetual as well. I believe that the Explorer is anti-magnetic, yes?
It is not anti-magnetic and there isn't any difference in construction.

There was (I believe a 1016) with a white dial,It would be a rare one..........Please don`t quote me on this one, look into it on Hondikee web site..or Google it..........

There was also the ref.5501 Dress Explorer but that didn't have 3/6/9 dial

White ref.1016, but it went at auction for $182,000

FOUND: A Rolex Explorer I With A WHITE Dial, For Sale At Christie's Geneva

Whether or not the dial is legitimate is another story...

A white dial Explorer would certainly be a big seller. Tudor has had some similar watches over the years.

I'll jump onto this zombie thread as well [emoji1787]. The other day I saw a guy post a pic of his father's watch, asking what Rolex reference it was. I thought it was fake or doctored; it was a white faced Explorer which I thought never existed. Now I see Rolex did make one, and they're super rare! Wow.
