I was hoping for confirmation of what I think is a fake woman’s Cartier. Fake right?

Also, if it is in fact fake, is it worth anything? Picked up at estate sale.

Thanks in advance.

Began life as ETA 2512 or similar.
ETA 2512 = Cartier 78-1.

However, this is simply an ETA 2512, which began its life as one, and it remained one, as the finishing is not even close to Cartier's.

IMO, likely a fake.

Thinks. I agree.

I'm not sure. "Must de Cartier" was a cheapo line with ETA movements so you shouldn't expect anything like the "true" Cartier quality. This is not the first watch like that which we've had here and more than one had that movement in a reasonably pedestrian finissage, e.g.:

...so either they've all been fakes or this one is also genuine.

Les Must de Cartier is indeed a very different animal from the Cartier New York or Cartier Paris flagship products of the same era.

I'm always chagrined and a bit embarrassed when people attempt to draw comparisons between the two.

20 years ago I had a vermeil Tanque that was so unrefined that it beggared belief and it was purchased directly from Cartier.

Thanks for the input. The case back is what seems to be most questionable. Most I’ve seen on google have more info on back. Similar to this... IMG_2163.JPG
