I bought a Favre Leuba watch on eBay for $20 with a Cal 253 movement. I am going to take it apart, clean, oil for practice. I will also replace the hands and maybe put some lume on the markers.

Does anyone have a Caliber 253 teardown guide/images/instructions--looked online and didn't find anything. I am new to this so I need all the help I can get.
Thanks,

I wanted to make sure that this watch is not something "collectable" before I mess with the dial/hands. See photos:

With my limited knowledge I believe the procedure for all basic manual movements is pretty much the same.
When stripping a movement for the first time I always use my iPad to take a photo as I take off each piece so as to reverse the prodecure when reassembling. I keep the screws with each piece when cleaning and storage .
Look up articles such as this before starting.

I've serviced plenty of these but never use a guide. What you have there is an Indian Refurbished watch. I would definitely recommend to tear her down but practicing on a Twin Barrel In-House Cal 253 isn't the best idea IMHO. The only ones with any value are all original so if you fail, you're out 20 bucks.
