I have been reading the articles in this group, and heard very nice things about Sea Gull watches. I finally ordered a Sea Gull M17 today from US Seagull (http://www.usseagull.com):

The watch looks lovely, and found a previous post about an M17 from a Massdrop order several years ago. The buyer seemed very happy.

I am a little concerned about the size of the date dial, given mu aging eyes, but the contrast looks very good, so it may work.

There is a similar watch that will be able to be ordered from Perpetual in March, but this one looked very good to me.

Time will tell, I guess.

I think it's beautiful, and Kevin Ma is a treat to deal with.

The watch came today, and it is gorgeous. This is my first foray into Chinese mechanical watches, and the value is amazing. The date numbers are a little small for my eyes - I can make them out though the bottom of my trifocals, which is fine. The Perpetual version has a larger date dial, which means larger numbers, but that large dial also means that the I and II on the face are obliterated. I am very happy with this watch.

I am not any kind of photographer, but here’s a quick snap with my iPad.

That's an attractive watch face. I don't tend to prefer Roman numerals but I have to say that is a well executed design particularly in the use of textures
