Started as a cheap Soki

Brushed the case and bezel with some green Scotbrite, bleached the bezel insert, got a yellow printed dial from Raffles on eBay, painted the hands with some coffee. Remove cyclops. Put it on a black NATO that came with my HMT black Pilot. I brushed the hardware on the strap with Scotbrite.

And of coarse wrist shot

It isn't perfect. I bent the seconds hand the first time I attempted to put it together. The crown is a little touchy. I don't know if that is normal or not. The "aging" of hands doesn't perfectly match the dial. But overall I am happy with my first mod.

I have three mods planned for the rest of this year, a snowflake Bagelsport mod, a Paneria homage and a Brassed Vostok or Luch.

Good job. Nobody's first mod goes quite as well as they hoped. Yours is a success by any measure. Keep it up!

I've done a few mods but have never done an "aging". It's coming up soon.

Nicely done! If you got everything back together and working on your first mod, you did just fine. :)

You can put a little coffee on each of the indicies, and let it dry under a lamp. Then they will match the hands. You don't even have to pull the hands off to do it. Quick, easy, and back in the case.

I'm excited to see the rest of your planned mods. Everyone knows I'm partial to snowflakes, but the brassy Vostok or Luch sounds like a lot of fun too.

I'm getting excited to start. Got a couple to play with and some parts on the way. We'll see what happens soon. I've got parts for 50 Fathoms Homage but they fit on a bit better watch so I really need to break a couple Soki's a couple time before I embark.

93EX, look'in good and dirty, just like a nasty little Soki should!!!! Awesome job, first one or not!

Good job! Takes some stones to even attempt a mod and you saw it through. The first never goes as planned, and your tenth probably won't, either, but if you're getting that unique satisfaction of looking down at your wrist and thinking "I did that"... Well that makes it all worth it!

In progress

Asian 6498 44mm Pilot. I didn't have the tabs to retain the movement correctly. I put those in tonight but I am also going to put blue hands on and change the crown to the PVD one. So I am waiting on the hands.

Brassing a Luch one hander. Also replacing the crystal with a domed one.

Luminor homage with dial from a fellow member and a Getat 1:1 case. Waiting on a movement

Another Luminor homage. Building for a friend. The case is currently on its way to another board member for some engraving.

Finished this watch box the other day.

Started with a Bookers whiskey box. Stained it with black tea first and then a mixture of steel wool soaked in vinegar to give it a distressed stain. Added dividers and covered the inside in leather.

Jackson 44mm case engraved by vilts, eBay Cali dial turned down by hand by me, skeleton Asian 6497, Getat blue hands, plexi crystal.

This one was built for a long time friend who just recently came out the other side from a very rough and dark side for him.
