Hi all, I got interested in Russian watches and have been browsing around here a bit. I've got a Slava Dolphin on the way from eBay that will be my first Russian watch. I'm sure it won't be my last.

I haven't seen a lot of them, I liked the look of it and it was pretty reasonably priced. I think a black strap will go nicely with it.

Cool watch!
Any idea for how many metres that can go down?
No, I don't. The seller stated it to be water resistant and the canteen would lead you to believe it is, but I didn't see it marked in any of the photos. I'll see when I get it. I don't think I'll rely on it to see more than a couple of drops of rain, though. I have other watches that I KNOW can handle some water.

Well, I finally got it. I picked the package up from the post office this morning, found a band and am wearing it now. So far it's keeping good time. I can't seem to set the date without advancing the hands, so I may have to get that looked at eventually. I'm not sure if it's associated or just this movement, but I can't hand wind it either.

Here's a few pics:
