I was watching (pun) the GP2 race this morning, the prelude to this morning's F1 race from Spa. The safety car came out with a couple of laps to go, and they had a nice onboard camera shot of this guy's huge watch -- any guesses on what it is? It's BIG, that's for sure!

I don't know what it is either. People in F1 wear really big watches, I guess with the money involved they must show as much bling as possible. California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger did a speech recently with what looked liked a clock on a strap.

Didn't B&R have a Spa watch? Maybe a UBoat? Hard to tell from the video capture. LOL at clock on strap comment

I agree with spluurfg and believe it's an IWC Aquatimer, but it looks huge because of the very wide angle lens in use and the angle of the shot.

Taking into account angles & in-car camera it certainly looks like an IWC Aquatimer to me....;-)

No surprise that many of the watches that drivers wear are paid advertising.

yeah, it's amazing how often that happens, and how much these guys are paid to 'subtly' endorse a product. I mean who hasn't seen Kimi with his Tag Carrera prominently displayed pre and post race?

You have to wonder what these guys actually choose to wear on their days off - or, alternatively - if they actually get] days off from wearing one particular brand of watch.

I remember when Brawn was Honda, Jenson would wear a Seiko all the time. Since Brawn took over and they don't have a watch sponsor I haven't seen Jenson wearing anything. Maybe some of them don't wear a watch outside of their freebies? I also found it interesting that he stopped wearing the Seiko, I can't imagine that Seiko is so strapped that they would have taken away a watch?

Maybe that's a part of Brawn's success this year - saving a couple ounces of weight translates into a competitive advantage over all the watch sponsored drivers.

Haha. I saw the exact same race and safety car shot and also thought "oo, i wonder what that is. I wonder if WUS could identify it"!
 IMHO, I think he's in violation of FIA rules for not wearing safety gloves, and if he did wear gloves, we would not have sooo much fun identifying the watch he's wearing! :-d
