A Facebook ad showed me a Canadian micro brand just about 45 minutes away from my house called Locke & King.

They only have two watches so far, but I like what I’m seeing. And the prices aren’t crazy. One is $500 CDN and the other is $700 ($365 and $511 USD with our lousy dollar).

Both have automatic Miyota movements. The cheaper one doesn’t specify which one, but the more expensive uses the Miyota 9015. Both also have a domed sapphire crystal, though it looks pretty flat in the photos (see below).

As luck would have it, I prefer the spendier option. It’s a bit smaller (40mm/11.4mm vs 42mm/12.4mm) and is more water resistant (10 ATM vs 5 ATM). But otherwise they seem largely the same except for some dial differences and different color options.

Not sure I’ll pull the trigger, but it’s cool that there is a brand so close to home. I do wish the case back was clear…only because I don’t have a watch with that yet.

Here’s the one I like best:

Watch Brown Analog watch Clock Rectangle
Camera accessory Font Technology Circle Metal

Here’s the cheaper version.

Those do look nice, would even be better sans those date modules but that's just me . . .

It certainly does have a vintage flare. And, this is the second Canadian start-up watch brand that I know of that has taken its name from the conjoining of two street names — the other being York and Front Watch Co.

I will have to look them up. I’m pretty to at this, but I’m happy to see there are some Canadian options.

Interesting! as a fellow Canadian is my first time hearing about the brand. That circular date window cutout looks a tad small at least in the photo you posted but a neat design overall.,
