Four (4) Grand Seikos SBGN001 Limited edition of 800 pcs, available: Iinterested ? & other info...

I was looking for a Limited Edition Grand Seiko SBGN001, and or, a Limited Edition SBGN007.
I figured they were all sold out. I wanted one of them. I had no plans of buying both of them.
I found out: Dan at Timeless Luxury watches, has four of the Grand Seiko's SBGN001
in stock. Limited edition of 800 pcs, if anyone is interest.
I called nine other dealers, but no one had any Grand Seiko SBGN001 models in stock.
I called Steve, at Little Treasury for the first time, and the last time.
I purchased the Grand Seiko SBGN007, instead of the Grand Seiko SBGN001.
I prefer the SBGN007, over the SBGN001.

The Grand Seiko SBGN007, was purchase from Brandon, with Govberg Jewelers.
Govberg Jewelers, still had, five Grand Seiko SBGN007 Limited Editions in stock.
I like the Grand Seiko SBGN007, but the dial is smaller then my SBGV007.
Probably, better for people with thin wrists 6-7 inches.
My wrist is about Eight (8) inches.

I also purchased two Grand Seiko's from Dan at timeless Luxury Watches,
this week.
A limited addition SBGV238 no one had. Dan still had these, new in the box in stock.
And, a Grand Seiko SBGA231, that Dan had to order for me.

Along with my Grand Seiko SBGV007. Purchased in 2015, in Japan
And, my Grand Seiko SBGJ001, I also purchased Timeless Luxury watches in 2016.
I will soon have five (5) Grand Seiko's.
I am looking forward to my first spring drive model.

Anyone interested in limited Edition models I have listed, feel free
to contact the stated dealer. And, feel free to tell them, you read my posting.

Steve, at Little Treasury had one (1) Grand Seiko SBGA231 in stock.
And stated: He was taking the Grand Seiko SBGA231 to a some show
on the weekend.
I told Steve; I do not consider a display model, as new in the box.
And, I asked Steve for a discount. Steve said, he wanted full price
on the display model.
Steve, at Little Treasury, had no other Grand Seiko models I
was interested in stock.

I always ask for a discount, and a new in the box watch.
I would never pay full price, for a display model.
Steve, never offered to order me a new stock watch from
Grand Seiko. I also prefer new stock from the manufacturer if
available. Dan ordered me a Grand Seiko SBGA231, new
stock from Grand Seiko. When a dealer can no longer get
new stock on a particular model. These models then becomes
new old stock.

Another member: bluedialer:
Stated: About display models being considered new in the box:

"Technically yes, but it very much depends on the condition.
Often a floor model will have marks on it,
and some of us want to buy a piece in as mint condition as possible".

I think everyone expects, a new watch to be in mint condition.
You, returned a new to you watch; that was not in mint condition.
Was it a known display model?

bluedialer:
I respectfully state, and know that your own statements, are conflicting,
and clearly incorrect, and misleading.
Any, watch that is not new in the box, and has been displayed,
or handled by someone. Is clearly not "new in the box".
There is normally a plastic cover over the crystal that is
removed before the watch is displayed. Or the watch is removed
from a shipping case, or a plastic bag. When this protective
covering is removed, and the watch is displayed or handled,
then it considered a display model. If it is in a display case,
it is a display model.
Some people never ask if, the dealer has any other watches, that
are not display models. Or ask for a watch that is new in the box.
Dan, also replaced the watch you returned, with a new one.
What more do you want. Since it was not a Grand Seiko,
and the topic is about Grand Seiko's.
bluedialer: Your comments on some no name watch, that you received a
new replacement for, are clearly not applicable, and mute.
If you are under the be-leaf that shipping departments, and dealers
remove each, and every watch from their protective coatings,
and inspect each one with a loop before shipping them out
You are mistaken.
Also:
Possibly you scratched the bracelet shown in the picture, when you
received it. Or, it was just not done on purpose, as you are
implying. Many dealers would of told you to send it in for service
to the factory.
I probably would consider that, I may also not return E-mails
to people real fast. Or : Evan in the same day.
I received two E-mails this week that went into spam.
I did realize that they were not spam, only reason I
looked is. The person who sent them called me, and said
he E-mailed me. Other wise I just delete the spam every week,
or so.

I am also still looking for a 2018 USA only model:
Grand Seiko SBGA387, 558 pcs, "new old stock".

If anyone knows a dealer that still has one; please PM me.
I contacted about ten dealers looking for what I wanted.
No one had a new in the box Grand Seiko SBGA387 in stock.
Govberg Jewelers, had a used Grand Seiko SBGA387, at list price.

Only two dealers Timeless Luxury watches, and Govberg Jewelers,
had the limited edition models I was interested in.

All the Grand Seiko watches I have, have had no problems.
Both Govberg Jewelers,, and Timeless Luxury watches shipped on time,
and the Grand Seiko's I have received were all flawless.

If you have a personal problem with the dealers I
have mentioned, or the people I have dealings with:
Please do not reply to my posting.
I read many postings, but when I read them.
I only read half of the story.

Please feel free to call Steve at Little Treasury.
Your experiences may differ.
Do not forget to ask, Steve at Little Treasury; for a discount.

NOTE: Update / Lots of haters on this forum.

ALSO:"edit: @ v1vne, to understand what PANICiii means, go read his posts".

v1vne: I have read PANICiii posts before. Before I posted this. I made no rude remarks, nor
do I take his word as gospel. Clearly his comments below, have no meaning to me.
I would not slander someone because I had a problem with a watch.
PANICiii comments, and other comments relate to their character, not mine, or Dan's.

I purchased four new Omega watches in 2007, three had to be sent in for service.
Two of them had to be sent back twice. One of them, had to be sent back to
the factory. Did I go on line and cry like a Japanese school girl, or blame the
forums recommended dealer Continental Jewelers; for that nightmare.
No I did not. I just had the Omegas serviced until they were repaired correctly.

I sent my 1969 Omega Seamaster 300 165.024, back to the factory for service.
Over one year later, it was returned.
Did I call the factory names, or alienate them, slander them, or post on
line about having to have a watch from Omega serviced. And it was
not finished in over a year. I just waited for it to be fixed.

I do not understand PANICiii comments, and others.
Dan at Timeless Luxury watches:May have sold PANICiii a watch.
PANICiii did not have to buy anything from: Timeless Luxury watches.
Dealing with customs is a crap-chute.

The only real facts of the matter is.
The watch is under warranty.
Dan, did not manufacturer the watch he may have sold PANICiii.
I would of just called Dan, and worked it out.
Many people purchase products that are clearly not perfect.
This includes watches.

I have read that Rolex refused to service, certain people's Rolex watches.
Because of the customer being, to demanding, and not being able to deal
with certain people. I fired people who were not team payers, as they
were causing to many problems. At a certain point, dealers, can, and should
just refuse service to certain people. I have also fired people who failed to
accept that what had taken place, was their fault. These people blame, and falsely
accuse anyone, and everyone; and never admit guilt.
Is PANICiii one of these people, I do not know.
What I do know is, PANICiii postings, and comments below support that he is.
Be leave what you want, this is nothing personal.
I wish PANICiii good luck, and think he should apologize profusely to Dan.

I bought my first Rolex GMT out of the PX catalog in 1983.
Production was limited to demand, or lower then demand.
I waited, and waited for my Rolex GMT to arrive. While Rolex made it.
It had to be regulated three times before it ran correctly, and was
magnetized in shipment. Did I blame Rolex, no I did not.
Did I go down to the PX, and give them a hard time. I think not.

Posts, and statements are a reflection of your good, or bad nature;
and a reflection of your own character.

I spent hours, and days looking for limited addition Grand Seiko watches,
I wanted.
I thought it would be of interest to many.
I care little what PANICiii thinks, or others who hide behind a computer.
I refer to these people as cowards, and no class peasants.

There are always three sides to every story.
1. The way you see it.
2. The way others see it.
3. The actual facts of the matter.

The actual facts of the matter, and the way I view see it is.
Dan may have sold PANICiii a watch.
If Dan did sell PANICiii a new watch. The watch normally has a five year warranty,
from Timeless Luxury watches.

PANICiii has been committing, liable, and slander. With regards to Timeless Luxury
watches,and Dan's good name.
liable, and slander, is normally an illegal act.
Committing liable, and slander on the internet reflects on the character of
PANICiii.

Updated:
I actually called Timeless Luxury watches to check on the shipment of my watch,
I spoke to Steve. My Grand Seiko SBGV238 shipped on time. Dan was out of the office,
on personal business. If Dan is unavailable when, and if you call Timeless Luxury watches.
Steve also has my personal recommendation, and Steve is very knowledgeable.

Update: After speaking with Steve: I want to note here:
"Congratulations to Dan, and his wife.
Do not forget Mothers day Dan. On Sunday the 12th of May.
And, regards, and again; congratulations to your wife".

I will give some more insight as to why I have purchased watches from Dan; at Timeless Luxury Watches:
I prefer dealing with an independently owed, and operated official dealer; if I can. Not a Boutique.
I always ask for the owner. Sales men, or women working at dealers, maybe working on commission.
The owner has to pay these people a commission. If you deal with a sales man, or women their commission
may increase the price of the item you purchase. The owner of an independently owned store; normally
receives no commission. Dan owns, and operates Timeless Luxury Watches: I would rather deal with
Dan, directly. And, not have to deal with a sales person who has to ask the owner anyway about the
price of the item; I am interested in. Dan, at Timeless Luxury Watches has been one of the most honest
people I ever purchased watches from. Especially, when I traded in a watch in 2016. I like Dan, and
his honest easy going approach to sales. Dan has a great personality, and character that I admire.
I am also, not the easiest person to deal with. Dan has gone out of his way to accommodate me,
with regards to my purchases.

I am to busy to post on web sites, normally. And, a simple posting with regards to three watches,
I purchased, and the dealers I elected to purchase them from.
Was hijacked by a few wieners.
The comments that were received, are clearly unwarranted.
This post has turned into some simple free advise, and insight.
Into myself, trying to uphold the unwarranted comments on the forums own
Grand Seiko dealer. Timeless Luxury Watches, supports this forum.
I am also surprised that more forum members have not posted about the good
experiences they may of had, when purchasing a watch from Timeless Luxury Watches.

Have a nice day.

PANICiii: Re: Sending my SBGE001 back to AD - Bezel issue

"Ok, I've been in touch with Grand Seiko USA. Apparently, the rules of the free first service if you purchased from a US GS boutique during the promotional period are that it has to be within your warranty period and that it has to be shipped through GS USA itself. Because we weren't able to make the latter part happen, we'll pay for your first service out of pocket. Just send me your bill and TLW will take care of it".

Update: 13 May 2018:The Grand Seiko SBGV238 I purchased from Dan, arrived today:
Another gorgeous Grand Seiko, to add to my collection.
Shipped by Steve from Timeless Luxury Watches.

Good luck with 'Dan' to be able to help you if you have issues with your watch and need to send it back to them from Canada.

Other than massive shilling for Dan, I'm not sure what the point of this rambling post is. A simple "Dan and Timeless are great" would suffice.

edit: @ v1vne, to understand what PANICiii means, go read his posts about the problems he had getting GS to service his watch purchased from Dan/Timeless (I have no skin in this game, do not intend any disrespect to Dan/Timeless, and am just mentioning it to show OP there are always two sides to the story).

I haven’t had any issues with Dan, but then again none of my GS I have purchased from Timeless had defects. Different viewpoint

Lots of crazy talk in this thread, but on point caught my eye.

Do people really consider the display watch with the tags to not be "new in box"? That was news to me.

Technically yes, but it very much depends on the condition. Often a floor model will have marks on it, and some of us want to buy a piece in as mint condition as possible.

I wasn't going to add to this thread, but this hit close to home with my one dealing with Timeless and working directly with Dan. I did in fact specifically request a special ordered non floor model piece (different brand). To which Dan said yes, no problem. I think perhaps similar to how you might feel SaoDavi, he may have actually rolled his eyes and said "yeah, sure whatever"... because what I received is the attached picture. Clearly, not even close to representing factory fresh... and, even if on the off chance it was factory fresh, clearly it was not inspected by the seller before shipping it to me.

I can say that when I pointed this condition out, Dan quickly made good and exchanged one in excellent condition. But this was a very unnecessary hassle. To this day, I feel my original request/concern as a customer was treated with disregard, and it's within reason to wonder if Dan tried to pass this over on me hoping I wouldn't notice. I mean when a customer specifically requests an unblemished piece, and this is sent, you really do have to wonder.

I have never felt comfortable enough to deal with them again, and this is also because I have experienced unanswered emails as well.
My impression became that Dan is quite a sales/businessman, but if you really want to deal with someone who genuinely wants to take care of you, your piece, and your big purchase, there are more reliable WIS-minded dealers out there.

I do agree we WIS can be a fussy bunch to deal with. Getting a factory fresh piece is not always realistic, and when a dealer says they'll get one for you... you never know if they're being completely straight with you. That might be ok if the condition of what they send is up to par. But it is not ok if you get something like this below instead. At LEAST inspect the item properly if the customer expresses concern about condition/scratches. Right?

Wow that bracelet looks way worse than shopworn. More like trying to polish with sandpaper.
Yup it was pretty terrible from the standpoint of anyone into fine products. A casual watch buyer or someone with poor vision possibly would not have noticed or might have let it slide.

I believe this was a store display piece that they really wanted to unload (the rotating bezel was also loose and wobbly), and they hastily (and poorly) attempted to touch it up. Of course, that is just speculation. What is fact is, an item like this should never be sent to ANYBODY under the impression they're purchasing a "new" item.

Imagine, what if I had been in Canada? lol
