Altivo Timepieces (on Amazon.com) has the classic DW-8200 left (as of this moment) for $250. The company has fast shipping and the watch arrived as described.

The DW-8200 is a hefty, eye-catching Frogman, with its red lettering (much redder in real life than the pictures below show), its silver accent, and its dome-shaped bezel.

The 8200 fantastic trait is its simplicity, something I don't think the modern Frogman models have anymore. Its functions include 1) time, 2) count-down, 3) stop-watch, and 4) 3 alarms and an hourly signal. That's it! It reminds me of the DW5600SL Spike Lee whose similar simplicity I adore.

As compared to my MIRB, it is just about the same size, maybe sitting a tick higher off the wrist but still comfortable. The 8200's strap isn't as progressively soft as the MIRB, but once the watch is on, you just don't notice the feel of the strap. The difference is little and, while worn, not perceivable.

I love both watches and will now have a hard time deciding which to wear for the day -- yet they're different enough that I won't be too indecisive.

For a second generation Frogman, I can't believe that this one came brand-new in the box. Not a scratch. Not a smudge. The illumination is bright and sharp. |> up for Altivo Timepieces on Amazon!

And a few comparison shots with the GW-200MS MIRB.

And Here are Some Wrist Shots

My wrist size is a little under 6.5 inches -- pretty small, but for some reason both Frogmen don't look overwhelming when worn... at least my wife and several others have told me!

great design! i like how the frogman text and its triangles are bright red against the left bezel. bold and brash. and i agree, it doesn't seem to float above your wrist like some of the gwf1000 wrist shots have to my eye. good deal. the design reminds me of the antman i had for a while.

I really like the larger display font used on this 8200 series frog, along with the classic "titanium" case.

This frog is part of a series that was released back in late 1990s through 2002; I'm amazed to see such "new" old stock frogs around. Nice addition to the collection!

Stunning buy indeed... it's my all time favorite frog...

I was DELIGHTED when I saw that casio took design clues from this model to make next gen Frog.

Non the less I'm still hoping to add one of these to my collection in the near future.

Wear it in good health mate! :-!

Congrats! I just recently received my first 8200 series frog too. I'm impressed with it and although it is very close in size to the GW-200 it just seems to be so much bigger on the wrist.

Enjoy! b-)

I agree that the 8200 looks much bigger on the wrist than the MIRB, but without any more overhang or protrusion! I'm liking the look of this piece.

I love this Frog! You bought the best of the series so far (casewise), in my opinion. The DW8200 has wrist presence that the GW200 can't match. It's huge, beefy, titanium, and lets you and everyone else know in bright red letters :)

I also like the size/clarity of the digits on the display and its simple features. The only thing I don't like is that you can't illuminate the display in anything but time mode.

Great pickup! I saw this on Amazon too, but it had too much red for me or I would have bought one. But I do like the larger font for the day and date!

Congrats :-! a real beauty.
Thing is with 8200 - series that they do seem quite alot bigger on the wrist. When i compare my black helios with my real black, the real black looks and feels so much bigger, almost as big as the gwf-1000.

Since the DW8200-1B came in, I've been wearing only it and the MIRB. I love the DW8200 digital simplicity. I love the MIRB look. I have not even touched my Swiss watches.

I think most G-shock fans get that. While I don't own a MIRB frogman, I bought my LNIB DW-8200MS-8T a few weeks back in part to see how the the semi-transparent resin bezel and strap hold up over time. My watch belongs to the "Men in Smoke" series and is very interesting in that even putting the watch on appears to *scar* the strap. In reality, a quick rub of the injured area returns the strap to it's original condition. I'm quite impressed that it has held up so well over time.:-!
