VERY NICE. And you went all the way with a Marine Master clasp. That my friend is "Hardcore"!

Super Nice. I have a PMMM mod being done by Duarte at NEWW at this time. It will have a Sapphire Crystal with AR and the SKX171 dial and Samurai Hands. Duarte is still waiting for the second hand to arrive.

I thought of going to the MM300 hands but the price was a little more than I wanted to spend. I hope to be getting this watch in the next week or so. Waiting is killing me.

Here is a picture of if the dial and hands, but still missing the second hand.

Awesome mod! Whats the point of a post without photos? 35 was just right!
Only thing is, if it is not a Marinemaster then in my opinion it shouldn't have the text label on the dial.
Otherwise nicely done. Is it still watertight?

yes it's still watertight
That's a nice mod.....wanna share my poor marine master....cheers, Joe
I don't get it. That's not a Marinemaster? It sure looks like it. What is it then? It's a bit too well done if it isn't a Marinemaster. When does a mod become a fake?

Finally, someone said it. I also think this is very wrong. If Seiko is serious about the MM300, they have to do something about it.

With all due respect, what precisely would you like to see Seiko do? Start sending cease and desist letters to everyone who decides to modify his or her own personal property?

If it's my property, I can do what I like with it.

You don't really think you can get a MM300 dial through the official channels just for your modding needs, do you? Seiko needs to tighten up the back door or something. That's my point.

If Seiko knows about it, then shame on Seiko. That's all I can say.

Why wouldn't you be able to buy spare parts from Seiko? I've called up Casio to buy parts for my Gshocks in the past. Seiko has to service their customers some how. I think the bottom line is we don't know and it's not healthy to automatically assume wrong doing. I doubt Harold or Jake would be in business for as long as they have with their reputations in tact on these forums, if they were buying less then genuine parts.

I think the MODS look fantastic as not every person can drop 2K on a watch. And on top of that, modding is very good for the Seiko brand. Without a dedicated fan base, who are as enthusiastic about their brand and their products that they will go to the time and expense to do these mods, brands would be no where. All brands wish they had a core group of finatical fans like the ones found here on WUS. It's the type of brand marketing you can't buy.

And as far as when it becomes fake?? That's a bit over the top. It's not like the OP created this MOD and then somehow tricked himself into spending his own money by convincing himself it was a genuine Marine Master, thereby scamming himself. No, he mods because of 2 reasons:

1) He can't afford a real Marine Master and
2) Secondly and most importantly, he loves the SEIKO brand and their products so much, that he went out of his way to create a Seiko that is special to him and that he will enjoy. Nothing wrong with that.

I really don't see any harm in modding people have been altering things forever watches are no different. Its a not really like its devalued the original watch or like Seiko would stop selling parts its a revenue stream. If this was an issue for watch companies Rolex would be sending in the lawyer's whenever a sub style watch was made.

I think that's a real nice mod well made wear it and enjoy it.
My 2 cents

Also in Italy, in the various forums of watches, there have been over the many awards,
also a lot of negative comments, as here, after seeing my seiko PMM
but Compare it to a fake ...
I do not think I'll take it, saying that it is a gen as it does with so many people watch far more noble ...
The "I would but I can not..." How many times I've heard and read it ... and not just about a simple modded seiko.
You can say the same example of so many things.
My PMM300 is like listening to music in mp3 right? Or see a movie in avi ...
Or maybe all those purists Taliban in the world of watches listen to music only in its original format or see a movie only DVD?
I download and listen to MP3 music and download and see movies in avi, and if I like what I see and what I hear,
then I buy the original and do not see anything wrong with that, indeed.
"I would but I can not..." There are those who say that the tudor is the "I would but I can not.." of the rolex,
and those who will not ever spend 2000 euro for a seiko.
The world is beautiful because it is different, I would spend them for the 2000euro for seiko MM300 but do not spend it never for a Rolex for example.
I love the MM300, his dial literally makes me drool, I tried a lot, even of a second pulse, but nothing and then I said :
"but yes, why not, I take now the seiko PMM300, then the next day I find one that I buy
This is what so and I hope that I have explained my point of view
