FS: Archimede Pilot M (brand new) [w/ new HD images]
Background
After a month-long browsing of watch forums and thorough contemplation I still could not make up my mind and so I bought not one but two watches as Christmas present to myself. The plan was right from the start to check out both of them in 'flesh', keep one and part ways with the other.
Deal
So there you go, I put on sale my Archimede Pilot M. It was bought at the end of November 2009. I have put it on my wrist once but it has never left the room, it's literally in the same mint condition it arrived from Mr. Ickler.
Watch
Most of the people who consider buying an Archimede Pilot are probably looking around in the German-Swiss pilot watch section. What made me personally buy Archimede was the fact that it offered a lot of integrity in a price range where you get almost exclusively private label watches (not naming any names). I don't really buy into the whole historical watch brand bloodline story (what Ickler in fact does possess); but I do need to know that the watch has been made by people who personally invest themselves into making it (i.e. Ickler and Co). Now, the latter usually comes with a big price tag but in the case of Archimede I found the price/quality balance to be most competitive.
The other characteristics that won me over were the design and size of Pilot M. I don't have enormous wrists and a 44mm (or 47mm) x 14mm heavy watch would look utterly ridiculous on me. I am not into big and heavy hardware to ostensibly show off. Rather, I wanted a quality timepiece that also looks good, when someone happens to get a glimpse. I needed my watch to be versatile, light and thin, to wear it with pretty much anything from casual to smart outfits.
