Beautiful and rare oversized late 60s early 1970`s vintage Revue Cerberus watch. The watch measures 40 ( ex crown ) x 12,2 mm high including the domed acrylic glass, the case itself is only 8mm high with a 47mm L2L. Super dressy and comfortable to wear. The caseback still has some of the factory lacquer seale on it and i decided to leave it on there.
The Cerberus name could have been for a specific market such as Australia/Pacific where i have seen some other versions for sale, but it is a guess.
It has the MSR Manufacture type T46/28a handwound movement with gilded logo and runs at 19.800 A/h with circa 50 Hr powerreserve. The watch has a Double Safety shock protection licensed from Certina and Incabloc. MSR was the proprierty manufacture owned by Revue ( later Revue Thommen ) and also used by Vulcain ( cricket ) and Vertex watches. Check out Mitka`s pages with lots of history at www mitka.co.uk . This watch runs within 2 seconds per day and was last fully serviced ( taken apart, cleaned, oil and assembled by a Omega certified watchmaker ) in February 2021, copy invoice available.
It comes on a leather strap in good condition with the original double R Revue buckle. Included is the hang tag and blue watchbox as well as the ( unsigned ) guarantee booklet. The watch has a beautiful creme/white dial in superb condition apart from a missing lume pip at 3 o`clock, and a tiny spot on the hour hand. All around applied markers with faceted edges, these are silver/metal colour but sometimes have a golden hue. The bezel has the original soleil brushing, the case is not polished, you can feel the super sharp edges, and the only marks i can see some small scuffs on the underside lugs. Original signed crown.
It is rare for it`s size in that era and it`s beauty 😊 Don`t hesitate because it is a vintage or old movement, as i include a fully working spare movement T46 for your peace of mind. Water resistance was tested at 3 ATM but don`t take it for a swimm !!
