(SOLD) FS: Zenith Ref. A386 El Primero, Circa 1971

The El Primero was arguably the first automatic chronograph ever. Introduced in 1969, this legendary movement has been highly influential. Furthermore, the high quality and precision, led it to become the base of the first self winding Rolex Daytona chronographs.
The Reference A386 is the original El Primero; and was the first automatic chronograph in production with an incorporated automatic chronograph movement. It has been posited that these watches were produced between 1969 and 1972, and that only approximately 2,500 pieces were made. This reference stands out to collectors with its telltale tri-color dial; that set in motion the more modern sporty aesthetic of the period.
This example will be a great addition to your collection. It was acquired recently from the original owner. The dial is original and is superb, with light patina. Please note, before seeking to sell, the original owner sent the watch in to Zenith through his local AD for service (costing $2,150). Zenith did service the movement, polish the case, replaced a pusher, hands, tachy ring, and strap. The watch now looks great, and is ready for it's new home!
