Panerai Radiomir PAM 183 Black Seal
Doing a major consolidation so this one is sadly on the chopping block. I bought it Feb 2019 here on f29 from its second owner, who bought it from Matthew Bain Inc only a few months prior to flipping it to me. Condition is very good if not excellent, produced circa 2006, first sold at AD in Feb 2008. Winds, sets, runs with precision; keeps excellent time; lume blazes. I've worn it sparingly, maybe two dozen times in 7 months. Watch comes with 6 extra straps and 2 extra sets of wire lugs (see specs below). Includes OEM stainless steel Panerai buckle, but I don't have the original OEM strap. Delivered with inner/outer boxes, outer cardboard box, papers, warranty booklet and card, COSC certificate, tag, and bezel protector, spec slip from Matthew Bain, all in superb condition. Matching numbers on everything. I don't have a service history.

Two reasons I wanted the PAM183: a) it's a vintage reissue of the original Radiomir watches from the 1930s, and b) it uses a base ETA/Unitas 6497-1 movement, which any reputable watch repair shop can service and repair (watch runs beautifully, shows no sign of needing service).

Watch definitely has signs of use (some swirls, scuffs, and minor nicks; I've circled the two most obvious in the pictures below). Crystal looks perfect to me. It is in lovely cosmetic condition, runs well, is a joy to wind, and one of the smoothest screw-down crowns I've ever handled.

ASKING: $3,400.00 OBRO

Price includes PP fees and USPS Priority shipping. US domestic addresses only please. PayPal only. No trade offers, please, trying to cull the herd. I can only ship on business days. Please check out my excellent feedback.

BORROWED FROM PANERISTI WEBSITE: In the 1930s, the men in the Italian Royal Navy's Gamma Group, carried out their maneuvers astride human torpedoes a.k.a. "pigs" or indeed "black seals". The first modern Panerai Radiomir watch honoring Reference 3646 from the late 1930s was launched in 2004 with a 45mm -the original Radiomir watches had a case measuring 47mm in diameter- stainless steel cushion-shaped case with detachable wire lugs, display case back, black matte sandwich dial with superluminova, onion-shaped crown, gold calf strap with beige contrast stitching, large pin buckle and the OP XI hand-wound movement -based off of the ETA/Unitas 6497 but with a swan neck regulator. This Panerai, was released under the 'Radiomir Black Seal' name and usually referred to by Paneristi as the PAM 183. Today, the PAM 183 includes the 'Black Seal' writing at 12 o'clock under the word 'Radiomir' instead of at 6 o'clock as it did when it was launched in 2004. Officine Panerai has been around since 1860. Giovanni Panerai opened his first watchmaker's shop in Florence, Italy, where HQ remain today. In 1934, he created the world famous Radiomir and Panerai Luminor watches, and supplied timepieces and instruments to the Italian Navy.
