Hello all. Up for sale or trade is a gorgeous 1982 ROLEX DateJust 16030. This particular example comes with the quite rare gray (sometimes also called the ghost) dial. Unlike silver dial versions which can be a bit flashy or the darker colors like blue or black which can be a bit overwhelming, the gray keeps the watch a bit more stealthy. But it does so in a beautiful way, changing between a lighter and warmer/darker shade of gray with its subtle sunburst pattern. The white writing also compliments the color very well, even "disappearing" at times depending on the viewing angle, lending these dials to have the "ghost dial" moniker. Looking closely, this dial is in excellent condition with the lume plots having an eye-pleasing creamy patina. This color is carries over to the lume on the original hands giving this watch an overall subtle vintage vibe.

But while this watch has a hint of the past, it has a strong "modern" advantage over its four-digit predecessor; and that is that it includes the quick-set function. With the 3035 Caliber (introduced in the five-digit DateJusts), Rolex was able to provide a quick-set date function, allowing you to easily set the date without having to advance the time over 24 hours to just change one date (as was the case with the 160x DateJusts). Just pull the crown out to its first detent and rotate it to change the date. This allows someone to enjoy this watch on a non-daily basis, easily setting the correct date within a matter of seconds after not wearing it for a little bit.

Speaking of the movement, it was serviced approximately a year ago when it came into my possession. It is running perfectly with no issues. As for the rest of the watch, it is in great pre-owned shape with the case being completely free of rust or pitting. While the bracelet, which comes with an E code clasp, does have moderate stretch, it fits very comfortably and can be sized up to a 7.25+ in wrist.

I am asking $5100 (check bump posts for price adjustments and ant updated pics) via bank wire or Zelle, or PayPal+fees or Venmo (if you have good feedback / references). Have references here, Reddit, TRF, and 100% feedback on eBay. You can reach me via PM /[email protected].

For trades I am open to offers. However, if you are offering anything other than a straight trade, please let me know your proposal right away. Otherwise I will assume you're asking for a straight trade.

Thanks for looking.
