The 168000 is technically the first 6-digit submariner manufactured for a very limited time in late 1987. It’s believed that it was only produced for a 9-month run and much like the 16800, has a tritium dial and sapphire Crystal. The only difference is that it is the first model to be made with the upgraded 904L steel that is still used today. It is favored over the previously employed 316L for its better resistance to corrosion and ability to hold a higher, more luxurious shine when polished.

Original Black Dial Glossy, with white gold surround markers, it is Turning to Matte, it has consistent speckled patina, Hard to photograph.

The hands and markers have a very nice Cream matching patina (no longer luminous).
The date wheel has "open 6" and "open 9"
Fully legible Serial and Model numbers.
It has a newer insert bezel; the pearl still glows.


Rolex Chronometer, Automatic Movement in House Rolex's Calibre 3035 self-winding movement, a high-precision movement that is known for its reliability and accuracy. with a power reserve of approximately 48 hours and certified as a chronometer by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). The movement features a Parachrom hairspring, which is made of a unique alloy that is resistant to temperature variations and shocks.

This watch was serviced a couple of years ago. It keeps great time, runs excellent, and it has Zero Beat Error and very good Amplitude.

40 mm Case Size Diameter. Between lugs: 20 mm. screw-in crown, unidirectional rotating bezel.
Water Resistant to 300 Meters / 1000 Feet,
Rolex 95150 Oyster bracelet with 593 End Pieces. 12 Links. it will fit easy an 8-1/16" wrist size. Rolex Service Buckle, Clasp code U11. Shows little stretch.

Crystal: Sapphire crystal in very good condition.

Set Includes: Watch, inner and outer Boxes, Rolex Guarantee Papers, Instructions, Booklets, Calendar (All proper & matching with the year of this Sub), Plastic Paper Holder with matching Serial, Anchor with its original plastic holder, Green Tag, Rolex Service Box, Polishing cloth, Print of a recent Pressure test. All in Pics.

Rolex Inner and outer Boxes Model # 68.00.2 are proper to this Submariner and to the Australian Market of that era.
Note: The Green Tag does not have the serial # of this Watch.
