G shock with a comfortable strap?

Figured I'd ask the experts...I've only had one experience with a G-Shock watch. It being a G300-3AV, purchased from Amazon.

Amazon.com: Casio Men's G300-3AV G-Shock Ana-Digi Black Street Rider Watch: Casio: Watches

Was wondering if all/most G-shocks have bands/straps that are this uncomfortable? If no...which ones are more comfortable than others? Been looking at the DW6900's, G7900's...styles like that.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

The most comfortable band I've owned has been the G-3110. Second is the GW-5000 bands I have on a couple DW-5000s.

In the past, CASIO has made some mediocre to brazenly uncomfortable wristbands. I have no idea why they didn't conduct usability tests, as they did create some reasonably comfortable bands even as far back as the early 1980's.

Anyway, there are some which are terrific and stand out above the rest. I've heard many people praise the GW-5000 resin strap. I've also found the Riseman double-tang style strap to be quite good. One of the best I've ever seen CASIO make is the composite bracelet, featured on the GW-M5600BC/M6900BC models. Part of the reason why is that each segment is articulated, so the band conforms comfortably to your wrist. Also the segments are slightly curved on the inside, which helps conformity even further.

One band I give a big thumbs down on is the one installed on the GW-9100. Absolutely awful. There are pronounced ridges prodding right into your wrist. Wearing it over a wetsuit or other clothing would alleviate that, but how many people would do that? I put a Riseman band on it and that solved the problem immeasurably.

For me the G-5500 is the most comfy G ever. But there are others which are pretty comfy, too:
GX-56
G-7710CL
GW-2500B/3500B
G-7710C
G-7710-1
GW-M5600
DW-5000SL
To name a few.

Cheers, Sedi :)
