Hi guys, this is my first post here.

I am looking for a multiple timer watch for my girlfriend who works in the kitchen. Her kitchen allows watches and her birthday's coming up.

I googled watches for chefs, but i didn't find a whole lot. Other than, chefs don't wear watches. But lets put that aside.

So, in one of the google results was this Casio G-shock review for the GW2310-1 with a review by another chef who said it was good, water resistant enough and it had the multiple timer function.

Amazon.com: Casio Men's GW2310-1 G-Shock Solar Atomic Digital Sports Watch: Casio G-Shock: Watches
Now here's the problem, its too big, and I didn't see any options for women.

Do you guys know any similar types?

The countdown timer and 1st and 2nd place stopwatch on this women's Casio add up to three timers... enough for her? (See the bold text below).

You sure you want to do that? Cause I can't help thinking that a good kitchen timer will make for a far more useful and better targeted gift for her.

Other than sound sanitary reasons for not wearing a watch or any other jewelry while cooking professionally, there's also logistical considerations which favor a bigger and louder, off-wrist timer when in the kitchen. It's far easier to operate and monitor a purpose-built kitchen timer than, by comparison, a dinky watch on your wrist.

You may want to study some of the offerings here (those two quad-timers in the middle of the first page, both look good to me on paper) for ideas: Amazon.com: kitchen timer amazon: Home & Kitchen

If you're still set on a watch, Casio has just this month come out with a new referee watch which has a number of pre-set interval timers. It's smaller but with bigger main digits than the GW2310. It doesn't have a 24-hr CDT like the one on GW2310. I have my eyes on this myself, but I don't like paying over MSRP for it, so, I'm just going to wait until it gets a wider distribution which will further lower it's already reasonable price: Amazon.com: ae1300: Watches.

1st and 2nd place stopwatch; Is that like a lap function? I don't quite understand.

@AirWatch
Well she wanted to watch, so I'm gonna look in that direction. Your suggestion looks good! The pre-set interval timers is definitely a plus. I'm going to get it to test its user experience.

@yankeeexpress

Nice! I just got the AE1300, if it isn't functional I will check out your recommendation. Smaller is definitely better! Thanks for the info guys!

What I really like about the AE1300 is the nine multi-timers.
  • Timers
    Up to nine timers can be preset with separate starting times for timing of intervals.
    Measuring unit: 1 second
    Input range: 59'55. (5-second increment and 1-minute increments)
    Other: Auto-repeat

I tried searching for the lug width to no avail. Does anyone know the size? I want to get another strap for her.

You did good....never seen the AE1300 before, so I learned something today. Thanks.

I have an AE1200, a different animal altogether, but with a similar size case that takes 18mm straps. Maybe the same as the AE1300.
