Hello folks!

I need help deciding between these two G-Shocks! The G9300RD-4 Master of G Series and burning red GW-7900RD-4ER. Which one would you choose any why? I'm mainly going to be using the watch either at work or doing activites such as swimming, rock climbing, etc. Appreciate any help! Here are the pictures:

I like my 9300, however I like my 7900 better.
Front mounted light button ( huge plus) buttons much easier to push, screws on front don't bother me.

Thanks for the reply guys. I think I'm leaning towards the 9300. It just seems it's a more solid watch compared to the 7900. Also, like that the 9300 doesn't have that big G button on the front for the light. Just doesn't suit my likes.

I like the looks of the GW7900RD, but it is not an easy to read negative display. In general I stay away from negative displays. I do have a GW9300GB and it is much easier to read than the GW7900RD, but I think any given negative display has to be evaluated for legibility based on the color of the digits (e.g. white, gold, etc) and any mirroring of the digits. So I would get a first hand report on the legibility of the GW9300RD before pulling the trigger.

FWIW: if it were me and I need to actually tell time at work, I would look at the GW9330. There are sometimes decent deals on eBay, and legibility just won't be a question.

Or consider building your own with a standard GW9300 and the resin from the GW9300RD. The resin on the GW9300 is easy enough to swap... I did it because I wanted a positive display blue model:

Thanks for the reply! Do you know the difference between the G-9300rd-4er and the G-9300rd-4 ? I'm wondering because the G-9300rd-4er seems to be more expensive on Amazon by about 20 bucks compared to the G-9300rd-4.

They are the same watch. Those last two letters are a region indicator, but there is no difference in the actual watch.

I am just in the same spot now deciding as I want a red & like the red shade on both the
Mudman & the 7900

I like that the mudman has temp but do not really need compass or moon phase etc.
But the overall look of the mudman I do like a lot.

Here the mud man @ is $168 USD which is just about exactly double the price of the 7900 @ $82 USD
so I am wondering too if it is worth that to me..

You folks have a neg display 7900?
We have this one G-7900A-4 here? I guess not really exactly the same as this is not solar either

I've got both the 7900s in your post, flying. The red, non solar is a rosy red which is quite unique - unfortunately the module on my watch died after 9 months of ownership. Now the GW7900 has one of the hardest to read negatives in my collection - very frustrating. I like the red bezel and strap on this burning red, so i used it on my GW7900CD-9.
