I never sell.
(Backs away slowly...)I recently purchased a grail of mine, a Casio MRG-1100 Frogamn. I payed quite a pretty penny and now I feel like I must sell a portion of my current collection to compensate. (I also promised my girlfriend that I would) I currently own about 12 watches, a majority of them casios. I don't really need the money and was wondering if it would be a bad idea to sell? I don't want to make a decision that I would regret. I also wear many of the watches that I own because I like to enjoy what is in my collection and I know that the longer i keep them the more they will depreciate : ) Currently I am thinking of selling the watches that I do not wear so that they can fall into the hands of someone who will appreciate them as a collectible.
And/Or...you said you don't really need the money, so why sell...wait a minute...why the heck did you promise your girlfriend you'd sell them?? She ain't your wife, so.....Keep them. You'll probably lose too much money on them if you sold.
"I payed quite a pretty penny and now I feel like I must sell a portion of my current collection to compensate. (I also promised my girlfriend that I would)"
These are not sufficient reasons to sell without more examination. Compensate for what and why? Why did you promise your girlfriend you would? Why does she want you to sell? Is it a valid reason?
I'm not suggesting you answer here but I would suggest you have a clear understanding of the reasons for selling or keeping. 12 watches hardly seems like an obsession, but then I have a wife with over 100 pairs of shoes.... At any rate, I'm suspicious when I hear about someone asking a significant other to give up something that seems harmless but gives the significant other pleasure.
My thoughts exactlyI'd keep the Black Monster...
