Today I present a new addition with an interesting story. In our company it is customary to give a watch as a thank you for 5, 10, 15 etc. years of service. Well I endured my first five years and since the owners know I am watch-impaired, a box with Longines written on it was waiting for me in a paper bag
It's not a model I would have personally chosen, but thank you very much for such a beautiful piece of watchmaking.
Well, below are a couple of photos of the Longines Conquest. It is on a non-fitting NATO strap, because the watch has a non-standard 21mm lug width. I had to take off the original bracelet because it absolutely did not fit me, the butterfly clasp is evil and does not allow micro-adjustment. Eventually I want to get the watch a nice fitting rubber strap so I can take advantage of the 300m water resistance
It's a great watch and beautifully legible. The movement is excellent (a modified ETA with a lower frequency and a power reserve of some 60+ hours), making less than +2 seconds in 4 days. Among the negatives, besides the aforementioned bracelet, I would include the absolutely pathetic lume - so pathetic that it can't even be photographed. We're getting along for now, but we're going to love each other for sure.
