Globemaster - Omega’s hidden gem

During the summer, I mostly wore my 2 divers and my Speedy, but as the weather has cooled down, I have found myself picking up my Globemaster more often in the mornings, especially when I have to go to the office. It is just a great everyday watch that goes well with so many leather straps.

Yesterday, while exploring some old WUS threads, I stumbled upon one of my own posts from 2021 😛:
I might be in the minority, but I actually find the original bracelet to be VERY comfortable. Sure, no micro adjust, but I never needed it. I wear it slightly loose so that my wrist can swell in the summer, and even when my wrist contracts back the watch stays perfectly in place. This is in contrast to my Seamaster 300 MC where micro-adjust is a must otherwise the watch slides up and down.

It also looks great: nicely brushed with no shiny center links, and looks elegant with its slight curvature. I also like its flush clasp - much better compared to my Seamaster's large clasp for desk diving.

Five minutes later, I grabbed the OEM bracelet that had been sitting in my drawer for almost a year and mounted it on my Globemaster. My goodness, what a fantastic feeling - I had almost forgotten how beautiful and comfortable this bracelet is and how well it balances the Globemaster on my wrist. Plus, it brings out the beauty of the pie pan dial in a most elegant way:

I think this watch is truly an underrated masterpiece in the Omega catalog - in fact, I have never met anyone wearing a Globemaster in person. Omega does not advertise it, and this watch is usually hidden in the back of the store.

So here's a new thread where I'm calling on Globemaster owners to post their pictures and opinions about this watch so that others can discover and appreciate this hidden gem. Blue or opaline silver, stainless steel or gold, three-hand or annual calendar: bring them all and show your love for the Globemaster! 😎

Today is December 26th, which is technically winter, but it’s time to start preparing for the summer 😎

I was playing with the Omega strap configurator to find something nice for my Globemaster, and I think this summer blue NATO looks like it was created for the Globemaster:

What do you guys think? Is this strap a no go on such a dressy watch, or is this the ideal summer combo?

No-go?? Heck no!!

As you know , Peter, I wear my Globemaster 🌎 on different straps and with any attire. Most people would say a Globemaster would never go well with a tattered, canvas Carhartt jacket, but that's how I wear it sometimes.

Granted, I've never worn mine on a Nato (yet), but I think it would look fine. Especially the one that you've earmarked here. I think they all look better when seen in the wild rather than in a mock-up. Especially when worn with confidence.

I say go for it. Maybe I'll join you someday.

Thanks for all the honest opinions so far, Gentlemen!

@Titan II: great comment, as always, Buddy! I might try it in person and see how it wears. I am still considering a blue leather strap as well for some color, but you are right that it has to suit me first and foremost, and not simply go with the flow.
BTW, your Carhartt canvas jacket looks great with all your watches!

Cheers, Peter

Gorgeous!

Trying to decide if I'll hang onto my AC...

Congrats on your Globemaster and daughter! My daughter was born two days ago!
