Anyone know anything about this Glycine "Vacuum", bought by a friend on eBay.

It's an automatic and has an interesting solid case, so apparently the movement would have to come out through the face with the crystal removed?

It runs pretty good, the day/date function works.

We were hoping someone might be able to tell us more about this interesting watch. Thanks!

Re: Glycine Vacuum

I love Vacuums. They were extremely advanced watches (at their time).
I believe they were the first to use mineral glasses, not to mention their own air tight vacuum system. I have three of them in my collection.
You may like them or hate them but one thing is for sure: they were different.
Enjoy yours

I have a "Vacuum" very similar to the one on the right of your three photos that was recently given to me. For the life of me though i cannot figure out how to open the case up. Any suggestions??

Since it's resurrected, let me take the opportunity to add my impulse buy  Not sure what to do with it,but it was appealing in its box with papers,I couldn't let it go si I've added it to the heritage collection. The Vacuum aperture in which these watches were sealed:

Glycine Vacuum, very interestingly this quattro team still keeps perfect time after half a century, that was the magic of Vacuum I guess. These watches are not chronometer certified, but manufactured as chronometer grade timekeeping:
