I have a Rangeman GPR 1000 and I constantly have to recalibrate the compass. It works about 10 minutes then the error triangle shows up where the time should be.

Any help or advice welcomed. I’ve combed YouTube and can’t find a solution.

Thanks

might be:
  • strong magnetic field near u
  • sensor is defective

doesnt the gpr-b1000 use gps + magnetic compass for direction?

those magnetic compasses arent reliable, one reason why i turned away from abc-watches in general. i still have some, just they are more of rough and unreliable indicators. for simple direction, nothing is more reliable than some usual quality compass. a suunto clipper for example.

so, to be totally sure, i would go on a field/in the woods, no metal near, no electricty near. shutting down the cellphone. doing a complete watch reset, trying the rangeman again.

if still problems, id send it to casio.
please get back to us with the results.

Many Thanks for getting back to me. I've done multiple re-calibrations in the woods/ field, only to have the error triangle show up. I'm not sure what you mean by complete watch reset ? Thanks again for getting back to me.

morg, u could unscrew the watch from the back and do the ac-reset. warranty will be gone then.
or there is a pusher combination for a reset? cant find some in the manual.

if still warranty, id send it to casio or asking them.
