Hi. I'm looking to buy my first vintage Seiko and i'm lacking in confidence in judging the condition. I would be really grateful for some opinions on this watch i'm looking at. Many thanks!

Wow that looks to be in very good condition. Very few scratches that I can see on the case or marks on the glass. Medallion looks like new.

Any service history? Box and papers?

I love the 56, it's a great place to start with vintage GS!

This one looks to have an original dial from what I can see, but the case sides look to be polished. It would be good to see a direct side-on view of the case to see the case lines.

Do you have a movement shot and is the working condition of the quick-set date confirmed (the date change has a particular part that is prone to failure)?

Dial is in incredible condition. Caseback looks new.

Maybe too much polish on the sides. Untouched cases have a sharp defined edge.

The 5645 is a solid movement. If the gaskets have been replaced, you have a beautiful everyday watch.
