I wanted waterproof watch for swimming. My 8 years old SPF-60 had defective seal and there was water inside after first swim.
I was very impressed by GW-5000 due to full metal case and DLC coating, and Tough Solar/ Multiband-6 features, but when I decided to buy it, the watch was out of stock at Seiyajapan.
So, I was very sad, and I bought GB-5600B (available in Moscow) and was using this watch for 2 weeks (in the swimming pool too).
After that GW-5000 became in stock again and I bought it from Seiya ($298 with free shipping to Moscow).

Comparison with GB-5600B:

This photo illustrates flexibility of the straps:

Main worth of the GW-5000 is a full metal case with DLC:

Not many things can scratch DLC layer, for example cBN (Borazon):

Wrist shots. Screw back is great.

"Tactical" shot...

Lume shot. White balance was set to Daylight.

And finally, video (in Russian):

This subsection doesn't get much traffic. Very nice comparison shots (looks fantastic on your wrist). I hope you don't mind, but I'm going to link your post in the main G-shock sub-forum so more see your thread!
