Yep, I am the guy who killed his GW5500 doing an LCD swap. I finally got a call into PacParts and put in an order for a new module with the negative display to keep it original. Ironically the part is no longer carried, so the only module I can get has the positive display, which is what I was trying to do anyway when I killed the first module:)

So it is back from the dead... a GW5500-1AJF with the module from a GW5500-1JF (and for what it is worth, I actually really like the the very monochromatic look of the combination... sorry stealth lovers):

I have a set of replacement resin, but I want to beat the original goods in to the group first.

Glad you were able to raise your watch from the dead. That's a neat trick! Good thing there's PacParts when you need it.
