So what do you “screw down” people believe a screw down crown does? Because I think you may be overestimating its intended functionality (and missing out on some great watches because of it).
Either way, Hamilton says 100m WR, which should be more than good enough for a field watch.

I have three Khaki Field watches and am a fan of the 38mm Murph.

One of my issues is the premium Hamilton prices the Murph over the other 38mm Khaki autos. Can I justify getting the Murph with the black Khaki already in my collection? That's difficult to say. Also, as already stated, I'd like to have a bracelet option. I swap straps often and would like to be able to wear a bracelet with the Murph on occasion.
Although I know in some ways I would prefer the Murph to my current black auto, I'm not sure if I should buy one at its price.

Hamilton Khaki Murph 38 is in my wishlist. I like it too. No date, vintage style, good readability, good size for my wrist. Perfect. But the price is too high for me, and I'm afraid of a possible contradiction with my Khaki Field 40. Murph can push it into the background.

People keep saying this, but I was happy to pay extra for a case with appropriate length lugs, cathedral hands, and cool looking numerals.

Doesn't the bracelet you have on your silver Khaki fit the new Murph? I thought the Murph and 38mm Khaki autos had the same case but maybe I'm wrong.

I'm not 100% certain. If it does, even better. Sometimes, in pictures, the lugs on the Murph 38mm seem shorter than the 38mm autos I have.
IMHO if they priced the Murph between where it is now and the price of the 38mm auto, it would be perfect for me and I'd already have it in my collection. As it stands, I just don't see getting one.

The lugs on the Murph 38 are 44.7; on the Auto they are 47. Further up this thread there is a model number of a Hamilton bracelet that fits the Murph38, at least according to someone on Reddit.

I've tried a couple KFM, and the L2L just kills it for me. Have not tried the KFA, but on paper, would assume the same?
The 38mm Murph? Probably just right.
Reminds me of a previous model Glycine, the Combat 6 36mm with Arabic indexes.

This was a sweet watch, and the Murph hits all the right design cues, in comparison. The hands killed the Glycine for me, and the Murph does a better job, with the cathedral hands.
Used to be, no-date would have killed the Murph for me, but I've come around on that. In person, it is a really sweet looking thing.
However, as much as I like it... one can only have so many, and a Sinn 656 fills the role better on my end.

Who knows... maybe someday I'll try one out, but where I might have been in line for one first day of release... not in a hurry to pick one up.

It's the caliber H-10 with silicone mainspring. What's your point? Aren't most movements inherently disposable and replaceable?
