I see threads about GTG's all the time but I'm wondering if anyone has put together a group to visit a watchmaker en masse, say 8 to 10 WUS members.

What got me thinking about this is the guy who just posted his new RGM watch and is interested in visiting the shop.

Does a GTG for visiting a watchmaker work? Appreciate any comments.

There's a watchmaker seminar thingy at the end of the month in Las Vegas where you learn to build your own ETA movement and keep the watch. It's like $1200 not including travel and stay. But hey, a bunch of us dorks can get together, talk about watches, and realize $1200 isn't that bad considering we just lost $5000 on the blackjack table.

In the Christopher Ward Loupe magazine there was an article about just that, a group of CW fans from a Facebook page that put together a tour of their offices/watch shop.

I think it would be pretty interesting. With regard to RGM, the National Watch & Clock Museum is only 15 minutes away so there's a possibility of a two-fer tour.
