Hello all,

I've been reading and lurking here for quite a while but never posted. I like G-Shocks but never felt I 'needed' one, preferring analog if I'm honest.

Now, however, i have quite an intense eye-drop regime (6 different drops, some hourly, some daily, some twice daily, some four times daily) to manage and I find it tough to remember which drops to put in when, if you see what i mean. What I need is a watch with multiple alarms (4 at least) and an hourly chime. I'm not so keen on the wilder G's as I need to wear this to work, but I think some G's would be fine, and I do like the GWM5600 reverse display model on the bracelet.

Also, if you're getting a G, you want gadgets, so I'd love solar and atomic if possible!

If you can help point me at models I should look at, I'd be really grateful.

Thanks in advance
Craig :thanks

I think G-7800 would meet the requirement for multiple alarms.
It can be set as daily or weekly or during the week days or weekends only.

However if I were you, I would take this as a good excuse for buying multiple Gs. :-d:-d:-d

Sorry to hear about your eye drops, I went through something like that about 3 years ago. You might look at one with a time recorder, such as the GW-700 series. Push a button and it will save the current time. It will save up to 30 of these records. It also has 4 daily alarms and one snooze alarm. Solar and Atomic, but only syncs in the US and Japan. The MTG 900's have a time recorder too, but I am not sure if it will sync in more places or not.

Hi,
well a GW-M5600 would be a good choice I think - especially when you already like it anyway. The GW-M5600 has 4 alarms plus 1 snooze alarm which I think can also be set as a 1-time alarm - the advantage of this is that you can shut it off with pushing a single button whereas with a snooze alarm you have to go to the alarm mode to shut it down or it will repeat like 7 times every 5 min. Maybe also the GW-M850 would be worth a look - it has a 24hr countdown (GW-M5600 only 60min) plus the rally timer mode - which is basically another 24hr countdown in combination with a stopwatch that'll keep on running once the countdown reaches zero - it also has ten freely programmable start times for the countdown on the rally timer - really very useful. And it also has of course 4 alarms + snooze (the snooze can't be set as a 1-time alarm however like on the GW-M5600). So with the GW-M850 (or also with the GW-9010 which uses the same module) you can use the 5 alarms plus the rally timer plus the countdown to keep track of the eye-drop application times - which gives you 7 different alarms (or basically acoustic reminders when to take the drops) all in all - I think this can't be done with any other G-Shock.
It's also atomic and solar btw.

Greetings, Sedi :)

Casio GW-400J

  • Vibrating alarm. With the GW-400J, the vibrating function is all or nothing. Either you want sound, or you want vibration. The vibrating alarm applies to the alarms, countdown timer, and hourly time signal.
  • Atomic (Waveceptor). That means this watch is automatically calibrated through radio waves transmitted by atomic clocks. It works in both Japan and the US. When your time zone is set to LA, Denver, Chicago, or New York, the watch automatically knows to use the US frequency for time calibration rather than the two Japanese frequencies.
  • Tough Solar. Solar cells around the face keep the watch's battery charged, and a sophisticated power-saving function will keep the watch powered for up to 19 months with no light.
  • Water-resistant to 200 meters, or over 600 feet (which makes it suitable for diving).
  • Thermometer which measures both air and water temperature between -10 and about 60 degrees Celsius (that's about 14 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit, although the units are only in Celsius since the watch was not intended to be sold in the US).
  • Tide graph based on your general location.
  • Moon phase indicator.
  • World time supporting 32 cities in 30 time zones.
  • Stopwatch with a resolution of 1/100th of a second and a max time of 100 hours.
  • Four alarms.
  • Countdown timer. Goes up to 60 minutes and has an auto-repeat function.
  • Automatic calendar.
  • Electroluminescent backlight.:-!
