Hi guys i have inherited a Smiths deluxe 15 jewel watch that i am struggling to date/ find online to estimate a value.

I have included a few pictures for inspection if anyone can advise me or help in the process. Thanks.

I suspect your watch is from the 1950s, but that's just a guess based on style.

You can estimate a value easily using eBay, since these watches are quite common. Go to the advanced search feature and do a SOLD item search under

vintage smiths watch

or

vintage smiths deluxe watch

and the refine the results using the "wristwatch" category. Sort by sales price and then page down until you get into the gold-plated examples. You will find a few dozen good comps. They mainly seem to sell for $100-$150usd, depending on size, condition, etc.

Hi Martin
they are a great watch, you can see a couple of watchmakers service marks on the inside back cover, if you have it given another service and a new lens and strap you will find it a pleasure to wear.
